Service EngineerLocation: Corby, Northamptonshire Salary: £37,000 - £40,000 depending on experience, with flexibility for the right candidate who can demonstrate strong technical capability and relevant industry experienceAbout the Role Barker Ross is recruiting on behalf of a leading specialist in mechanised irrigation and water management. They are looking for a hands-on Service Engineer to support installation, servicing, and maintenance of irrigation systems. This is a practical role with a mix of workshop and field-based work-not repetitive maintenance.You will work on large-scale irrigation equipment, including:Irrigation booms and hose reelsPumps and pumping systemsHydraulic systemsDiesel-driven equipmentElectrical control systems, automation, sensors, and controlsThe role involves diagnosing faults, testing, and problem-solving on equipment both in the workshop and at customer sites. You'll work closely with customers, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure reliable system operation.Key ResponsibilitiesCarry out installation, servicing, and repairs on irrigation systemsDiagnose faults on pumps, motors, valves, hydraulic systems, diesel drives, sensors, and control systemsRead and interpret engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, and manualsLiaise with customers, suppliers, and subcontractorsSuggest improvements to efficiency and reliabilityKeep accurate service recordsAbout You We welcome applications from candidates with backgrounds in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or FTL (Forklift Truck) Engineering .
