Role responsibilities We are seeking a Project and Process Engineer as a key part of the engineering capability at Pullman Rail to drive engineering strategy, ensure technical excellence, and overseeing the development and in-life support of key projects. You will develop talent and support the engineering capability to power Pullman Rail’s long-term growth. The Project and Process Engineer will provide coordination, manage key interfaces across the organisation and with customers, and provide engineer leadership to R&D projects, investigations, and throughout the contract lifecycle. This role will have one direct report. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: • Safety & Ethics – Support the implementation of the Pullman Rail Limited Safety, Health, Environment and Quality (SHEQ) strategy, associated actions and resulting initiatives, to deliver continuous improvement., • Quality & Compliance – Support the quality and inspection team to drive the quality of products to our customers. This will includes long-term planning to fully integrate regulatory and maintenance requirements into operational procedures. You will design and refine tooling, fixtures, jigs and manufacturing processes (inc. use of 3D CAD) to support new product or overhaul of rolling stock components., • Delivery – Ensure project and contracted work is carried out with a continuous view to affordability, profitability and efficiency to drive customer value and relationships. Take responsibility for delivering on time, high quality and on budget products, or/and engineering services, which Pullman Rail can take pride in. You will develop processes and controls, review and update engineering documentation, and ensure technical instructions and maintenance procedures are clear, accurate and compliant., • People – Champion respect, inclusion, and diversity; empower the engineering team to excel through development, collaboration, and innovation. You will work with multi-disciplinary teams and our customers to develop and mobilise solutions, and deliver high value customer products and engineering services. The Project and Process Engineer will develop, mentor and empower their team to achieve leading performance through continuous professional development, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation. Who we’re looking for • An engineer (with a Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Production Engineering, or working towards Chartered Engineer status) with demonstrable experience in a technical role, ideally within the traction and rolling stock industry., • Someone with a strong understanding of regulatory and industry frameworks (for example, RISAS, ISO ROGS) who is able to lead, influence and collaborate across multi-disciplinary teams to deliver process improvements and key projects., • Strong understanding of reliability engineering techniques (FMEA, RCM, RAMS), engineering change control and maintenance optimisation in the rolling stock domain., • High level attention to detail, with demonstrable experience of problem solving, trouble shooting and managing well under pressure. Strong background of process re-engineering and other continuous improvement and lean techniques. Welsh Language Skills The ability to speak/write Welsh would make a great addition to your application, but it is not essential for this role.
