Now Recruiting: Business Development Manager (Defence Housing, New Build & Armed Forces Charities) We’re looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to lead growth across defence housing, new build residential projects, public service estates, and armed forces charity-led retrofit programmes. This is a senior commercial role with real impact — helping deliver high-quality, compliant energy and retrofit solutions while supporting the UK’s transition to Net Zero. • Salary: £75,000–£85,000 per annum (DOE) + OTE up to 50% of base salary, • Location: UK-based (hybrid, with travel to clients, partners, and sites as required), • Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday–Friday (Flexibility required), • Flexibility: Required to meet business and bid deadlines, • Car Allowance: £4,000 per year, • Accommodation: Fully expensed Role Overview The Business Development Manager will be responsible for achieving annual revenue targets by securing and developing opportunities across defence housing, new build developments, public sector estates, and armed forces charity projects. A key focus of the role is securing and maintaining recognised second-tier supplier status with Tier 1 contractors operating in defence and public sector construction. Working closely with the Head of CASE (Compliance Advisory Services for Energy), the role also supports armed forces charities by enabling compliant, grant-funded retrofit and energy efficiency projects. Key Responsibilities • Deliver agreed annual revenue targets across defence housing, new build, public sector estates, and charity-led retrofit programmes, • Secure and maintain second-tier supplier status with Tier 1 contractors, • Build and manage strategic relationships with defence estate stakeholders, public service contractors, and delivery partners, • Lead engagement with armed forces charities, supporting grant-funded retrofit projects through CASE services, • Act as a senior commercial representative for Heatforce, positioning the business as a trusted delivery partner, • Contribute to high-quality bids, tenders, frameworks, and call-off submissions, • Collaborate with senior internal stakeholders to ensure aligned technical, commercial, operational, and compliance input, • Identify new routes to market, partnerships, and funding-aligned opportunities, • Provide market intelligence to inform business planning and investment decisions, • Ensure all activity aligns with defence, procurement, security, compliance, and quality standards Skills & Experience Essential • Proven senior commercial experience within defence housing, new build residential, or public service estates, • Strong track record of securing revenue through Tier 1 contractor supply chains and public sector frameworks, • In-depth understanding of defence estate requirements and regulated public sector environments, • Experience supporting complex, high-value bids and tenders, • Confident senior stakeholder manager, able to operate at executive level, • Commercially astute with strong pipeline development and forecasting capability, • Experience working with armed forces charities, grant-funded programmes, or social value-driven initiatives, • Understanding of security, procurement, and compliance requirements in defence-related environments Why Join Heatforce?
