Location: Scunthorpe Hours: Monday - Thursday 08:00-17:00, Friday 08:00-13:00 Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 per annum An exciting opportunity has arisen for a hands‑on Senior Production & Quality Engineer to join a well‑established electronics manufacturing business. This is a varied role combining production engineering and quality, with approximately 75% of the position based on the shop floor and 25% focused on desk‑based activities. Working closely with production, engineering and quality teams, you will help improve manufacturing processes, resolve quality issues and ensure products consistently meet the required standards. • Work closely with production teams on the shop floor to improve processes and product quality, • Develop and improve manufacturing processes, work instructions, tooling and fixtures, • Support new product introduction and ensure products are suitable for manufacture, • Program, operate and troubleshoot automated test and production equipment, • Carry out root‑cause investigations using tools such as 8D, 5-Why and Fishbone analysis, • Support and maintain the Quality Management System in line with ISO 9001, • Monitor production quality, yields and key performance indicators, • Implement corrective and preventative actions to reduce defects and improve efficiency, • Support testing and inspection activities, • Provide guidance and technical support to production operators and technicians, • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement using Lean and 5S principles, • Support supplier quality activities and investigate component‑related issues, • Hands‑on experience within an electronics or electrical manufacturing environment, • Strong production engineering background, ideally with some quality experience, • Experience working directly on the shop floor rather than purely in a desk‑based engineering role, • Experience with electronic assembly and hand assembly techniques, • Knowledge of IPC standards and automated test/assembly equipment, • Experience working with ISO 9001, QMS and quality audits, • Ability to read and interpret electrical/electronic schematics, BOMs and engineering drawings, • Strong problem‑solving and root‑cause analysis skills, • Experience with continuous improvement, Lean or 5S methodologies, • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with production, engineering and quality teams, • A practical, hands‑on approach with the confidence to get involved and solve problems on the shop floor, • Ability to commute to the site within approximately 45 minutes #J-18808-Ljbffr
