Freight Operations Account Manager Feltham £30,000 - £35,000 Base Our client is a market leader in UK & EU gateway logistics solutions, located in Feltham. They have a rich history, trading since 1999. They offer specialist bespoke solutions for the international freight forwarding industry, e-commerce business, global courier & postal systems. This role sits within an Operational department working as part of a varied and diverse operation logistics team. Responsibilities and Duties Working as a key part of the team, you will be responsible for a wide range of activities. Activities may include: Client Account Management • Act as the main contact for assigned accounts, building strong, long-term relationships., • Ensure timely delivery of solutions and communicate progress to stakeholders., • Prepare accurate invoices, maintain billing records, and support month-end reporting., • Coordinate with freight forwarders and third parties for quotes and timely shipments., • Partner with marketing to maintain brand visibility and monitor market trends., • Provide cover for colleagues during busy periods. Qualifications and Skills Essential • A highly motivated professional with a passion for delivering results., • Minimum 3+ years’ experience in freight forwarding or international logistics., • Proven track record in account management or a similar client-facing role., • Solid understanding of international trade regulations and customs clearance processes (UK and global)., • Demonstrated ability to deliver client-focused solutions and anticipate customer needs., • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels., • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with attention to detail., • Flexibility to travel to designated markets as required. Desirable • Previous involvement in export projects and familiarity with export operations., • Leadership experience managing projects or small teams., • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills., • Proficiency in MS Office and relevant software tools., • Strong listening, negotiation, and presentation abilities., • Additional language skills (e.g., Spanish, Portuguese, Mandarin) are a plus for supporting Asia and Latin American markets.

The Shipping Associate is responsible for overseeing the successful, timely and compliant importation and Exportation of the shipments Marken transports into and out of the UK ensuring compliance with client requirements and Marken Quality Standards. Based at Marken Ltd, 648 River Gardens, Feltham, TW14 0RB Work Schedule: 4 on 4 off - 7pm to 5am Salary £31,752 Main Duties And Responsibilities • Review all documentation provided by clients and any other Department or Branch office., • Confirm that the shipment is OK to Send to destination and obtain MAWB consignment instructions., • Define the best possible route to dispatch the shipment to its destination., • Obtain a booking with the airline and consign the MAWB as instructed., • Enter the RL for International Flight., • Send the Alert through Maestro., • Coordinate with Dispatch the drop off to the Airline as per the respective COT., • Use the Marken-Export Daily Schedule Report and update Maestro with all the departures from designated airports., • Review import documents for accuracy and completeness., • Work with Customs brokers to ensure timely clearance of import shipments., • Ensure regulatory requirements are met, and proper documentation, including transit documents and customs clearances, exists for shipments., • Have a strong knowledge of UK import entry process, rules, and compliance., • Communicate with clients about import and Customs related issues., • Troubleshoot import related Customs and other government agency delays., • Ensure documentation is accurately processed, distributed, and released to carrier, forwarders, customers, and agents in a timely manner., • Prepare all necessary data entry and confirmation of key milestones (departure, arrival, customs clearance, etc.), • Maintain courteous, prompt, and efficient customer relations., • Develop and maintain successful relationships with local vendors (e.g. airline representatives, freight forwarders, custom brokers), • Communicate with customer, supply chain and the management team to ensure necessary requirements are met., • Stay current of U.K. Customs regulations (Customs Brokers and the Customs clearance process); and classification and validation rules through self-study, approved related courses and seminars, and regular review of trade publications., • Collaborate with various on cross department activities promoting process optimization., • Interfaces and assists other departments with process/compliance questions that may arise regarding import shipments., • Responsible for labelling In-bound shipments before tendering for final destination, either domestic or international shipping., • Ensure that all route legs are complete with all needed operational details and costs estimates entered in Maestro., • Liaising with customs brokers to pre alert imports and follow up on clearance status. Requirements • High School completion or equivalent., • Air freight/Freight forwarding experience., • Minimum 3-5 years related industry experience., • Ability to read and write in English., • Experience with imports and Export Customs entry procedures for air transportation., • Strong analytical skills; proficient in spreadsheet development, • Familiar HTS classifications for import and export shipments on all products, • Ability to use own initiative to research and grow professionally, gain extra industry knowledge., • Strong business acumen, analytical skills, good judgment, and the proven ability to effectively communicate in verbal and written forms at all organizational levels., • Excellent problem-solving skills and capacity to prioritise., • Able to work independently and in a team environment., • Proficiency in Microsoft word, Excel, Outlook. YOUR ROLE Our Air Freight Operations team based in Hounslow have an exciting opportunity for a skilled Air Import Supervisor where you will oversee all aspects of our air import operations, ensuring efficiency and compliance for the flow of goods across borders. This amazing role will see you managing a team of import coordinators, collaborating with vendors and customs authorities, and implementing strategies to streamline the import process. This role will see you working Monday to Friday, from 9am to 5:30pm on site at Hounslow, we are ideally looking for someone who has a strong background in air freight, import regulations, customs compliance, and logistics management. This amazing role offers a salary of up to £40,000 per annum, 26 days annual leave plus bank holidays, pension and so much more. WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO? Reporting into the Air Operations Manager, you will take responsibility for: • Supervise and guide a team of circa 6 import coordinators, delegating tasks, providing training, support, and performance feedback., • Oversee the coordination and execution of the importation process, including managing documentation., • Ensure compliance with all import regulations and customs requirements., • Keep up to date with changes in international trade laws and ensure accurate import duties and taxes are applied., • Build and maintain relationships with suppliers, shipping companies, and customs brokers to ensure smooth and timely deliveries., • Address any issues or delays in the import process, working closely with internal teams and external partners to find quick solutions., • Identify and implement cost save initiatives for every shipment., • Support the Operations Manager with ad-hoc tasks and projects as and when needed.
