Maynards Travel is seeking qualified bus drivers to fill the role of SEND School Minibus Driver. This is a part-time position contracted for school term-time only. Duties will include but are not limited to: • Driving a company minibus on Newcastle City Council SEND School Contracts whilst obeying UK traffic laws and the Highway Code, • Working with a company travel assistant on your allocated school run, • Look after your allocated minibus including first use checks, general cleaning and basic maintenance, • Reporting defects in a timely manner to your line manager, • If you have a full Cat D entitlement then there may be scope for ad hoc private hire work (this can be discussed at interview) Candidates must have the following: • A vocational Cat D1/D licence entitlement with a valid CPC (If there is code 101 or "NFHR" next to this entitlement on you photocard, we would need to do a licence check with the DVLA to make sure your D1/D entitlement is valid)., • At least 1 year of driving experience, • No more than 6 penalty points., • Enhanced DBS certificate no more the 3 years old or be on the DBS Update Service (This can be applied for if you are successful in your application) Ideal skills for this position: • Have a friendly and approachable attitude and be able to work with children that have Special Educational Needs or Disabilities, • Be able to secure wheel chair restraints at floor level
