This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced underwriter to take ownership of new business development across Property & Casualty lines. You will work closely with brokers and internal stakeholders to identify, shape, and secure high-quality opportunities while maintaining underwriting discipline and profitability. • Underwrite new business across Property and Casualty risks in line with underwriting appetite and authority levels, • Proactively identify and develop new broker relationships, driving growth through strong market engagement, • Deliver profitable new business by applying sound underwriting judgment and technical expertise, • Analyse risk exposures, terms, and pricing using data and underwriting tools, • Build and maintain strong relationships with key brokers and internal teams, • Contribute to regional business plans and growth strategies, • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal governance standards, • Act as a senior referral point and mentor for less experienced underwriters where appropriate About You • Proven experience in Commercial Property & Casualty underwriting, with a strong focus on new business, • Strong technical underwriting expertise and risk assessment capability, • Commercial mindset with a track record of delivering profitable growth, • Excellent negotiation and relationship management skills, • Strong analytical and decision-making capability, • Ability to work autonomously while contributing to wider team objectives Essential Skills & Experience • In-depth knowledge of Commercial Property Insurance, Casualty Insurance, policy coverage, and underwriting principles, • Proven ability to identify, develop, and win new commercial insurance business, • Strong understanding of insurance market trends, broker strategies, and competitive positioning, • Experience assessing complex commercial risks and determining appropriate underwriting solutions, • Knowledge of pricing methodologies, policy wordings, underwriting governance, and risk management frameworks, • Understanding of portfolio management, aggregation exposures, and reinsurance considerations, • Experience working with underwriting systems, data analytics, and risk assessment tools What We Will Offer You Recognised and rewarded for a job well done, we offer a range of flexible benefits and development opportunities designed to support your career and wellbeing, including: • Flexible buy/sell holiday options, • Hybrid working, • Annual performance-related bonus, • Contributory pension scheme, • Development days, • Retail discounts, • Volunteering days
