Credit Controller (Hybrid) Location: Chelmsford, UK Working Pattern: Hybrid Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent Overview Our client, a leading international insurance organisation, is seeking a Credit Controller to join its Finance Operations team. This role acts as a key link between offshore processing teams and internal and external stakeholders, including underwriters, underwriting support teams, brokers, and clients. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing outstanding premium collections, resolving complex credit control issues, improving operational processes, and supporting service excellence across insurance administration and credit control activities. This opportunity would suit a finance or credit control professional who enjoys stakeholder engagement, process improvement, and working within a fast-paced insurance environment. Responsibilities • Take ownership of assigned accounts, ensuring timely collection of outstanding premiums and accurate cash allocation within core systems, • Monitor aged debt positions and proactively escalate issues internally or externally to ensure prompt resolution, • Review and reconcile broker statements, identifying and raising discrepancies through appropriate internal processes, • Resolve complex queries that cannot be completed by offshore processing teams, • Build and maintain effective working relationships with brokers, clients, and internal stakeholders, • Identify brokers generating high query volumes and work collaboratively to develop strategies that reduce recurring issues, • Support and develop offshore processing teams through guidance, knowledge sharing, and process training where required, • Create, maintain, and enhance process documentation and user guides in line with organisational standards, • Ensure accurate and timely data capture to support reporting and management information requirements, • Analyse operational processes and performance data, identifying risks, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement, • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance service delivery, efficiency, and customer experienceRequirements, • Strong numeracy and literacy skills, • Previous experience in credit control, accounts receivable, collections, finance operations, or customer account management, • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, • Strong customer service focus with the ability to build positive working relationships, • Experience using Microsoft Office applications, including:, • Excel, • Word, • PowerPoint, • Ability to analyse detailed financial reports and account information, • Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities, • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with multiple teams, • Experience documenting processes and supporting operational improvementsDesirable, • Insurance industry experience, • Credit control experience within the Commercial Insurance or London Market Insurance sector, • Experience working with brokers and insurance administration processes, • Additional language skillsBenefits, • Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package, • 30 days annual leave, with the option to purchase additional leave, • Flexible working arrangements, including hybrid working, part-time options, job sharing, and compressed hours, • Generous employer pension contributions, • Private medical insurance for employees and eligible family members, • Enhanced family-friendly and parental leave policies, • Opportunity to work remotely from approved international locations for a limited number of days annually, • Cycle-to-work scheme, • Access to a broad range of flexible employee benefits and wellbeing initiatives, • Career development opportunities within a global organisationApplication Process To apply, please submit your application through the online application process.
