How you'll make an impact We seek a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Accounts Payable Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the Accounts Payable Director in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the accounts payable department. This role requires strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a solid understanding of accounting principles. The Accounts Payable Manager will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices, maintaining carrier relationships, and supporting the organization's overall financial health. • Lead and Manage Teams:, • Directly manage a high-performing team of up to 10 onshore staff and provide indirect leadership to a global offshore team of 300 that performs trade accounting payables processing tied to carrier, broker, and client payments., • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement across onshore and offshore teams., • Oversee Payment Operations:, • Take ownership of trade accounting payables processing tied to carrier, broker, and client payments., • Ensure the accurate and timely preparation, review, and disbursement of weekly or monthly payment reports to carriers., • Reconciliation and Issue Resolution:, • Proactively manage carrier statement reconciliations, identifying and resolving discrepancies with urgency and precision., • Serve as the primary escalation point for carrier payment-related inquiries, collaborating with internal departments to resolve issues efficiently., • Month-End and Year-End Close:, • Lead month-end and year-end closing activities, including reconciliations, reporting, and compliance with 1099 requirements., • Ensure all financial records are accurate, complete, and aligned with accounting standards., • Process Improvement and Ownership:, • Act as a champion for process optimization by identifying inefficiencies and implementing innovative solutions to enhance accuracy and efficiency., • Drive the adoption of best practices and ensure adherence to internal controls and compliance standards., • Strategic Collaboration and Reporting:, • Partner with the Accounts Payable Director to develop and execute strategic initiatives that align with organizational goals. Required: • Associate's degree and 5 years of related experience required., • Requires some functional and industry experience and/or expertise. Preferred: • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field., • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in the insurance industry., • Proven track record of 3-5 years in accounts payable or a similar leadership role., • Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices., • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel., • Familiarity with Agency Management systems such as EPIC and AIM is highly desirable., • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in financial operations., • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive mindset., • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively lead teams and collaborate with stakeholders., • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage competing deadlines, and work independently in a fast-paced environment., • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with integrity., • Experience managing extended offshore teams. #LI-TL1 Compensation and benefits We offer a competitive and comprehensive compensation package. The base salary range represents the anticipated low end and high end of the range for this position.
