Position Summary The Security Guard is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for Greenwich House and its constituents. This position plays a crucial role in safeguarding assets, ensuring the safety of staff, constituents, and visitors, and upholding the organization's commitment to providing a safe and secure atmosphere. The Security Guard will be required to stand, walk, or patrol for extended periods and must have the physical ability to respond to emergencies quickly. Responsibilities: Access Control • Monitor and control access to the Center for Healing, ensuring that only authorized individuals enter the facility., • Conduct regular patrols of the premises, including interior and exterior areas, to deter and detect security threats., • Utilize surveillance equipment, such as cameras and monitors, to monitor activities and areas of concern., • Assist in developing and implementing emergency response plans and procedures., • Interact with staff, constituents, and visitors in a professional and courteous manner., • Maintain accurate and detailed security logs and incident reports., • Perform safety checks on equipment, doors, and windows to ensure they are secure and functional., • Attend training sessions and stay up to date with security protocols and procedures., • Comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and organizational policies., • Attend training on dealing with individuals who may be experiencing withdrawal symptoms, managing potentially volatile situations, maintaining the confidentiality of patients and zero tolerance for fraternization., • Perform other tasks and special projects as assigned by the direct supervisor. Qualifications: • High school diploma or equivalent is preferred., • 8 Hour Pre-Assessment Training., • 16 Hour on the Job Training (OJT)., • Valid New York State Security Guard License., • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to remain calm and composed in high-stress situations., • Physical fitness and the ability to perform security patrol duties., • Basic computer skills for monitoring surveillance equipment (if applicable)., • Previous Hospital/Clinic security experience is preferred., • Must be trainable.
