Job Description Section 2: Position Purpose The Lead Direct Support Professional (LDSP) directly supports the Residential Manager in maintaining program operations in accordance with industry, federal and local regulations and requirements. In addition to providing direct-care to consumers and performing the duties of the Direct Support Professional, this leadership position serves as a mentor to other Direct Support Professionals via modeling effective interpersonal interactions, developing creative strategies aimed at enhancing consumers’ independent living skills, and maintaining professionalism. The LDSP will perform responsibilities assigned by the Site Supervisor to ensure that quality services and operations are maintained. Section 3: Major Responsibilities • Works with Direct Support Professionals, management, internal departments, and additional stakeholders to ensure service implementation as stated in Individual Service Plans., • Mentor, trains, observes, monitors, and provides feedback to DSP’s regarding the implementation of the ISPs., • Develops and maintains organizational systems in assigned areas/homes based upon the support needs of the individuals as outlined in their ISPs and budget., • Provide service to consumers in accordance with all state, local and federal regulations., • Collaboration with management in preparation for the daily operation of the program., • Follow incident management reporting procedures., • Provide care that’s trauma informed, • All other duties as assigned, • Effective Communication: Ability to clearly and respectfully communicate with residents, families, staff, and external agencies. Demonstrates active listening and ensures transparency in all interactions., • Ethical Practice: Upholds confidentiality, integrity, and ethical standards in all interactions and decisions, ensuring the rights and dignity of residents are prioritized., • Leadership and Accountability: Provides clear direction to staff, models positive behaviors, and takes responsibility for the success of the residential program. Holds self and team members accountable for meeting expectations and standards., • Collaboration: Works collaboratively with other professionals, families, and community partners to ensure quality care and services are provided to residents., • Cultural Humility: Demonstrates respect for and understanding of the diverse backgrounds, needs, and perspectives of residents, staff, and families, fostering an inclusive and supportive environment., • Problem Solving and Conflict Resolution: Approaches challenges with a solution-focused mindset, resolving issues in a fair and timely manner, while maintaining professionalism and promoting a positive atmosphere., • Adherence to Policies and Procedures: Ensures compliance with all regulatory and organizational standards, maintaining a safe, respectful, and efficient residential environment., • ADHERE TO AND FOLLOW, • The By-Laws of the Corporation and as set forth in the Articles of Incorporation Section 6: Job Qualifications and Competencies Job Qualifications Education and Experience: • High School diploma or equivalent at a minimum; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred., • Basic computer and internet literacy with the ability to utilize applications like emails, time recording and other programs to enter and retrieve data as necessary to perform the essential functions of the job., • Two years of experience working with individuals with IDD and/or Mental Health issues, • Understanding of trauma, trauma-informed care, and the creation of trauma-informed environments, • Valid driver’s license., • Subject to employment clearances, including FBI clearance, if applicable.
