Job Description Location: Houston, TX Reports to: Maintenance Supervisor Main Responsibilities: • Provide hands-on mechanical troubleshooting and service of automated production equipment including: hydraulics, pneumatics, pistons, bearings, gear reducers, and pumps, • Fit bearings, align gears and shafts, attach servo motors and connect couplings to precise tolerances; mechanical overhaul and adjustment of machinery. Assist in day-to-day support of operators for adjustments, setups, and change overs; demonstrates a willingness to help other team members, • Provide electrical troubleshooting and service of AC & DC motors, variable speed drives, electrical panels and wiring, • Provide electronic troubleshooting and service of actuators and sensors, • Provide facility repairs such as, plumbing, carpentry, light electrical repairs, machine PM's, lubrication of production equipment, • Equipment repairs on welding machines, forklifts, shears and plate rollers., • Review assigned maintenance work orders and complete maintenance and repair records in a timely manner Secondary Responsibilities • Guide and work with service contractors while transitioning repair, routine preventive maintenance and inspection work to in-house., • Manage the spare parts and preventive maintenance programs, • Participate in new manufacturing equipment projects from initial concept, through the design and development stage, to the testing of one or more prototypes, to final manufacture, installation and commissioning, • Observe, evaluate and suggest operational/design changes or maintenance needs based on performance and quality control limits to maintain or increase efficiency of manufacturing equipment., • Collaborate and provide information/feedback to engineering group while working to resolve issues, • Eventual training of maintenance technicians as staff size grows, • Chiller system; catalyst washing equipment; process pumps, valves and hoses; air compressor/dryer systems (secondary), • Pumps (optional), • Blowers (optional), • 3 phase motors, low voltage up to 3-phase 480V (optional) Education and/or Licensing Requirements: • High school diploma or GED (required), • Formal training in mechanical systems, electronic systems and controls, PLC programming/troubleshooting, electric power and electrical motors Work Experience: • Experience working in a manufacturing environment (required), • Demonstrated cross-functional ability in troubleshooting, modifying, repairing and performing preventative maintenance on automated production equipment with PLC/HMI, electro-mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic components (required) Technical Skills: • Ability to follow mechanical drawings, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, engineering specifications, and written/verbal descriptions (required), • Ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical equipment, including the ability to disassemble machinery to remove parts and make repairs, reassemble, recommission (required), • Ability to follow electrical schematics and wiring diagrams, and use of electrical troubleshooting tools to troubleshoot and repair electrical wiring, instrumentation and controls (required) Physical Demands/Abilities: • Ability to lift 60 pounds, • Ability to Stand for long periods of time, • Ability to respond to urgent mechanical or electrical breakdowns during non-standard business hours Cultural Values and Requirements • Safety awareness - must understand and demonstrate the behavior that safety of yourself and other coworkers is essential, and must adhere to all safety policies and procedures, • Dependability - regularly arrives to work on time, returns timely from breaks, meets attendance guidelines and consistently arrives on time and prepared for team meetings, • Team work - ability to effectively work within a team environment to ensure timeliness of job completion, exhibiting a friendly and positive demeanor toward co-workers; ability to work cooperatively with machine operators to achieve quality products and maintain production throughput on equipment, • Communication - ability to communicate clearly and concisely with operators, plant manager, engineers, service contractors, using both the spoken and written work, as well as the ability to actively listen and comprehend communication from others., • Ethical - ability to demonstrate, conduct, and conform to a set of values and accepted standards, such as honesty, integrity, reliability, and accountability, • Detail oriented - ability to pay attention to the minute details of a project or task, and perform work accurately and thoroughly Working Conditions: • Manufacturing production environment., • Automated/Manual production machinery, • Periods of high ambient temperatures and excessive noise Benefits • Medical, dental, vision, life and disability, • 401k plan, • 11 paid holidays, • Paid vacation and sick leave Equal Opportunity: MIRATECH is an equal opportunity employer and supports a diverse and inclusive workforce.
