Job Description NE Property Management is seeking a detail-oriented, organized, and analytical Staff Accountant to support the monthly close and financial reporting process for a portfolio of properties. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely financial statements, supporting payroll processes, and partnering with leadership, owners, auditors, and external stakeholders in a fast-paced property management environment. Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required, • Minimum of 5 years of experience in corporate property management or real estate accounting, • Demonstrated expertise in month-end close, financial statement preparation, and reconciliations, • Experience with HUD reporting, audits, cost certifications, and regulatory compliance preferred, • RealPage/OneSite experience strongly preferred, • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets, including reporting, pivot tables, and analysis, • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail, • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities in a fast-paced environment, • Proven ability to work independently while collaborating cross-functionally, • High level of integrity and ability to handle confidential financial and employee information Responsibilities: • Own the month-end close process for a portfolio of 10–20 properties, ensuring accurate and timely financial statements, • Perform and review bank reconciliations for operating and escrow accounts, • Prepare, review, and post journal entries and accounting adjustments, • Analyze financial statements, identify discrepancies, and resolve issues proactively, • Prepare and distribute monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc financial reports to owners and management, • Support budgeting, forecasting, and internal financial analysis initiatives, • Create and maintain accounting schedules including depreciation, amortization, tax, insurance, and escrow schedules, • Prepare HUD monthly reports, replacement reserve requests, and surplus cash calculations, • Compile, review, and provide documentation for annual audits, cost certifications, and tax preparation, • Serve as a primary accounting contact for auditors, tax preparers, lenders, HUD personnel, and mortgage companies, • Maintain company abstracts including debt schedules, insurance, property taxes, and investor ownership, • Track investor capital contributions, preferred returns, and distributions, • Prepare weekly cash flow reports for executive leadership review, • Ensure timely payment of mortgage payments, utilities, management fees, payroll, and reimbursements, • Monitor expenses and revenues, build reports and analyses to identify trends and variances, • Assist with accounting and property management software setup, maintenance, and process improvements, • Support property teams with accounts payable questions, clearing issues, and technical accounting guidance, • Assist with bi-weekly payroll support for corporate and on-site employees, • Lead the setup of bank accounts for new properties and resolve banking-related issues, • Participate in budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning, • Perform other duties as assigned Equal Employment Opportunity Statement NE Property Management provides equal employment opportunities (EEO) to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, or genetics Company DescriptionSpecializing in multi-million dollar projects nationwide for both Public and Private sectors.
