Job DescriptionHR Coordinator, Benefits & Leave ManagementJob Type: Temporary (12-Month Assignment) Pay Rate: $28-32/hour Location: Hawthorne, NY | On-site (Monday-Friday, Business Hours) Job OverviewMadison Approach Staffing is recruiting for an HR Coordinator, Benefits & Leave Management for our client's Human Resources department. Our client is a large healthcare organization seeking a detail-oriented HR professional to administer employee benefits programs and manage leave of absence processes. This role provides critical support to employees navigating benefits enrollment, life events, and leave requests while ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations. The ideal candidate has strong customer service skills, excellent attention to detail, and ability to handle sensitive employee matters with discretion and professionalism. This is a 12-month temporary assignment. Key ResponsibilitiesBenefits Administration • Administer employee benefits programs including health, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, and retirement plans, • Process new hire benefits enrollments, life event changes, and annual open enrollment activities, • Coordinate with benefits vendors and carriers to resolve coverage issues, billing discrepancies, and claim problems, • Maintain accurate benefits records in HRIS system and ensure data integrity, • Respond to employee inquiries regarding benefits eligibility, coverage options, premiums, and claims, • Prepare and distribute benefits communications including enrollment guides, benefits summaries, and vendor updates, • Reconcile monthly benefits billing statements and coordinate with payroll for premium deductions, • Support annual open enrollment process including materials preparation, enrollment meetings, and system updatesLeave of Absence Management, • Administer leave of absence programs including FMLA, short-term disability, long-term disability, workers' compensation, and personal leaves, • Review and process leave requests; determine eligibility and coordinate with employees on required documentation, • Track leave usage, monitor return-to-work dates, and ensure compliance with federal and state leave laws, • Serve as liaison between employees, managers, medical providers, and third-party leave administrators, • Maintain confidential leave records and generate reports on leave utilization and trends, • Communicate leave policies and procedures to employees and managers, • Coordinate return-to-work processes and accommodation requests with appropriate departments, • Monitor leave expirations and provide notifications to employees and managersGeneral HR Support, • Provide high level of customer service to employees, managers, and leadership, • Monitor and respond to HR inbox for benefits and leave-related inquiries, • Assist with employee communication campaigns for benefits, wellness programs, and compliance requirements, • Support HR Business Partner team with special projects and reporting as needed, • Maintain organized filing systems for benefits and leave documentation, • Assist with front desk coverage as needed, • Participate in other duties and responsibilities as assignedRequired Skills & Experience, • Education: Associate degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred, • Communication: Effective written and verbal communication skills with ability to explain complex benefits and leave information clearly, • Customer Service: Strong customer service orientation with ability to support employees through stressful life events, • Attention to Detail: Demonstrated meticulous attention to detail when processing benefits enrollments and leave requests, • Organization: Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities in fast-paced environment, • Problem-Solving: Critical thinking and analytical skills to resolve benefits and leave issues, • Technology: Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); experience with HRIS systems, • Confidentiality: High level of discretion when handling sensitive employee health and personal information, • Collaboration: Ability to work independently and collaborate with team members across various departments, • Compliance Knowledge: Understanding of benefits regulations and leave laws (FMLA, ADA, COBRA, ACA) preferredPreferred Skills & Experience, • Previous HR benefits administration or leave management experience, • Experience with vendor management systems and benefits portals, • Familiarity with healthcare industry benefits and union environments, • SHRM-CP, PHR, or benefits-related certification, • Experience with Kronos, Workday, or similar HRIS platforms, • Knowledge of New York State paid family leave and disability requirements, • Bilingual (English/Spanish) helpful, • Experience supporting large employee populations (500+ employees)Work Schedule & Details, • Full-time position: Monday-Friday, business hours, • On-site in Hawthorne, NY, • Temporary assignment: 12 months, • Healthcare organization environment, • Light work with moderate mobility to different work locations; occasional lifting up to 20 pounds, • Requires hearing, manual dexterity, and visual acuity for computer workTo Apply: Please submit your resume to Madison Approach Staffing.
