The Senior Director, Finance and Investments, will lead enterprise financial support for COEs, Selling, General and Administration (SG&A) functions, operating expenses, investment governance, and business performance initiatives. This role serves as a strategic finance partner to senior leaders, driving financial discipline, cost optimization, investment prioritization, and performance management. The Senior Director will lead planning, forecasting, reporting, and business analysis focused on company performance, patient acquisition cost, clinician acquisition cost, operating efficiency, corresponding performance outcomes and growth. This role will develop a durable process that captures actionable metrics, benchmarks, and insights to help leaders pace the business, assess risks and opportunities, and make timely data-driven decisions. • Leads planning, forecasting, reporting, business decision analysis, and operational/business reviews for COEs, SG&A functions, and enterprise investments., • Shares ownership and accountability with business, operational, clinical, and market leadership for financial performance, operating expense management, and achievement of company performance objectives., • Partners with senior leadership to identify, align, and execute opportunities to improve business performance and meet or beat plan, including effective communication and alignment with key stakeholders across finance, operations, clinical leadership, COEs, and central business teams., • Provides financial leadership over SG&A expenses, clinical and non-clinical operating expenses, and discretionary expenditures, including identifying and executing opportunities to drive a more efficient cost structure., • Leads financial analysis and performance management related to company performance, patient acquisition cost, clinician acquisition cost, growth metrics, scale, productivity, operating efficiency, ROI and other key business metrics., • Develops and deploys a standard set of monthly financial metrics, benchmarks, dashboards, and performance insights to help pace the business, identify emerging trends, risks, opportunities to support timely leadership decision-making., • Leads the enterprise investment process for discretionary expenditures, including business case review, prioritization, financial modeling, ROI analysis, process controls, and monthly governance to ensure alignment with corporate strategy and goals., • Exercises an extensive degree of originality, ingenuity, judgment, and professional expertise in assessing COE and SG&A budgets, prioritizing discretionary expenditures, and identifying optimal ways to drive efficiency and effectiveness across the organization., • Partners with COE, CTech, market, and functional leaders to implement robust financial analyses, report financial performance, and support strategic positioning of business functions., • Leads financial modeling and analysis for assigned areas by analyzing metrics, trends, cost drivers, investment opportunities, and operational performance to optimize shared services and enterprise performance., • Leads cost optimization initiatives to support business growth, coordinating cost savings and efficiency initiatives across COEs, SG&A functions, CTech, markets, and enterprise partners., • Drives the annual budgeting and planning process for assigned COEs, SG&A functions, and investment areas, including development of financial targets, key metrics, financial projections, and alignment of financial and operating objectives., • Partners with leadership through strategic, multi-year planning processes to assess financial outlook, investment needs, business risks, growth opportunities, and resource allocation., • Leads the financial control and optimization of position control, workforce investment, and related cost management processes., • Works with process owners and functional leaders to support identification, execution, and measurement of cost optimization, productivity, growth, and performance improvement initiatives., • Leads in-depth financial, variance, and trend analysis for key profitability, operating expense, patient acquisition cost, clinician acquisition cost, and performance drivers, with focus on clear presentation to senior management., • Interprets financial and operational results and articulates actionable recommendations that improve profitability, optimize cost structure, and ensure financial targets are achieved., • Assesses the optimal way to structure, present, and communicate finance data to support investment decisions, operational reviews, executive discussions, and enterprise prioritization., • Facilitates meetings to review financial performance, evaluate investment alignment, examine key projects, and support enterprise decision-making., • Creates an environment where finance serves as a visible, effective consultant and strategic partner to business leaders., • Leads by example as an active change agent by leveraging influencing skills that result in improved business performance, operational discipline, and financial accountability., • Establishes strong, effective, and collaborative partnerships with key business area leaders at all levels to identify business opportunities, address business needs or problems, and help build effective solutions., • Provides leadership and direction to cross-functional teams to execute cost reduction, performance improvement, investment governance, and business pacing initiatives., • Manages and directs the efforts of assigned managers, analysts, or other finance team members and is responsible for hiring, training, coaching, disciplining, managing performance, developing, and engaging personnel to maintain a skilled and productive workforce that meets or exceeds business goals., • Performs other duties as assigned and modified at manager’s discretion., • Thorough knowledge of finance, accounting, operating expense management, financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, investment analysis, and business performance management, • Strong understanding of SG&A expense management, cost optimization, investment governance, financial controls, and enterprise operating metrics, • Ability to materially impact profitability, financial performance, patient acquisition cost, clinician acquisition cost, operating efficiency, and business decision-making, • Strong senior leadership and team leadership skills, with equally strong analytical, communication, management, and relationship-building skills, • Demonstrated ability to build financial capabilities, tools, and metrics that drive business performance and accountability, • Ability to use advanced professional knowledge of finance to formulate financial assessments, business cases, recommendations, and executive-level insights, • Ability to analyze and synthesize multiple data sources to develop a deep understanding of business dynamics, identify and prioritize opportunities, and spot trends, • Strong ability to translate operational delivery plans into financial plans, forecasts, outlooks, and measurable business results, • Advanced forecasting, budgeting, financial modeling, variance analysis, and business case development capabilities, • Ability to model and explain financial concepts such as IRR, ROI, payback period, NPV, margin hurdles, productivity, cost structure, and investment tradeoffs, • Demonstrated capability in influencing without authority, partnering across functions, and driving action through data, insights, and relationships, • Strong commitment to innovation and continuous improvement, with the ability to lead the implementation of financial processes, controls, and performance management practices, • High degree of objectivity, problem-solving capability, analytical skill, and attention to detail, • Strong desire and willingness to provide concepts clearly and concisely, verbally and in writing, to all levels of company personnel, including senior management, • Ability to delegate authority to team members necessary to complete responsibilities across various financial management functions, • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and database software, • Ability and willingness to travel locally, regionally, and nationwide up to 10% of the time, • Spoken and written fluency in English, • This job requires use and exercise of independent judgment, • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field and/or MBA or similar degree a plus; top-tier institutions preferred; experience may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis above the minimum experience required, • CPA or other advanced finance/business credential preferred, • Minimum ten (10) years of related finance, accounting, business performance, financial planning and analysis, investment analysis, or operational finance experience required, • Minimum five (5) years of leadership experience managing finance professionals, managers, analysts, or cross-functional teams preferred, • Experience supporting executive leadership, enterprise functions, market operations, healthcare operations, SG&A functions, or shared services preferred, • Experience in a risk-based healthcare organization preferred PAY RANGE: $166,652 - $238,075 Salary The posted pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for this position. Final compensation will depend on a variety of factors including but not limited to experience, education, geographic location, and other relevant factors.
