Position Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced handyman to join our team at. As the handyman, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of our luxury apartment buildings, providing exceptional service to our residents, and upholding the highest standards of quality and craftsmanship. Responsibilities: Conduct routine inspections of the property to identify maintenance needs, safety hazards, and repair issues. Perform a variety of maintenance and repair tasks including, but not limited to, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, painting, and appliance repair. Respond promptly and efficiently to maintenance requests from residents and property management staff. Troubleshoot equipment and systems to diagnose issues and implement solutions in a timely manner. Coordinate with external contractors and vendors for specialized repairs or services when necessary. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inventory, and equipment. Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and protocols, including the proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials. Qualifications: Proven experience as a handyman or in a similar maintenance role, preferably in a luxury residential setting. Strong knowledge of building systems, equipment, and tools, as well as proficiency in various trades such as plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and HVAC. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively. Detail-oriented with a focus on delivering high-quality workmanship and service. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as collaboratively as part of a team. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-centric approach. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and on-call shifts as needed. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Summary: The OASAS Transitional Safety Housing Program provides individuals with an extension of supportive case management services for 9-12 months, enabling them to actively pursue permanent housing. The Case Manager will be responsible for case managing clients in our OASAS funded Transitional Housing Program. Responsibilities: - Assist clients in working towards securing more permanent housing within the 9 month time frame which the program dictates. - Assist clients in the design and implementation of individual service plans that reflect mutually agreed upon short and long-term goals. - Assist clients in learning or refining the skills necessary to maintain their own housing which may including budgeting and money management, apartment upkeep and maintenance, employment, etc. - Assist clients in obtaining and maintaining all government benefits/entitlements and services when necessary. - Make appropriate referrals, such as medical care, mental health services, vocational services, recreational activities and substance abuse. - Conduct at least once a month home visits. - Accompany clients to appointments (medical, mental health, housing interviews, etc). - Coordinate care with outside providers (addiction treatment, mental health, child welfare, benefits, etc). - Maintain an accurate, confidential and current chart on all clients on caseload. - Attend regularly scheduled supervision meetings with Program Director. - Participate in Team Meetings and other Division meetings as scheduled. Full Job Description About Jericho Project Jericho Project is a nationally-acclaimed nonprofit ending homelessness at its roots by enabling homeless individuals and families to attain quality housing, employment and mental and physical health services. The 40-year-old nonprofit serves over 2,500 individuals, including 700 veterans, annually. Jericho has been a key partner in New York City’s initiative to end veterans’ homelessness, and is leading bold, innovative strategies to do the same for families and young adults. Our programs touch four cornerstones of a person’s life: housing, employment, wellness and family stability. We create a culture of “moving on” through a foundation of housing and supportive services provided by expert program specialists and case managers. We have over 550 units of supportive housing including 8 residences in the Bronx and Harlem, as well as scatter-site apartments throughout NYC. About the Position Jericho Project is seeking an experienced and responsible individual to join its team as a House Manager. The House Manager reports to the Manager, Building Operations and is responsible for the overall security of the site and assistance with clerical duties. Responsibilities: Ø Secure and maintain the safety of the tenants and the facility. Ø Distribute mail correspondences in the appropriate mail slot. Ø Provide crisis intervention when necessary. Ø Administer Narcan Nasal Spray to residents during a medical emergency. Ø Responsible for reporting and electronically document all incidents on site. Ø Monitor and visually verify that clients are safe by conducting wellness checks in accordance with Directors and Case Manager’s directive and client request(s). Ø Monitor and log client/visitor activity in logbook. Ø Provide support to Loring Place tenants when lockouts occur by providing access to their room. Ø Maintain compliance with fire safety codes. Ø Maintain the residence secure by conducting floor checks at the beginning of every shift. Ø Periodically attend house meetings, case conferences, and staff meetings. Ø Other duties as assigned.
