Job Description Maintenance Technician / Handyperson - Residential Paths is a full-scale, vertically integrated affordable housing developer, builder, and operator. Summary: Paths is seeking a hands-on Handyperson / Maintenance Technician for a 256-unit residential community in Dallas, TX. This role supports the day-to-day maintenance of the property, including service requests, unit turns, repairs, common area upkeep, and resident maintenance needs. The Handyperson will work closely with the Property Manager and Maintenance Supervisor/Superintendent to help keep the property safe, clean, and well-maintained. This is a good fit for someone who is practical, reliable, comfortable working with residents, and able to handle a variety of basic maintenance repairs. Classification: Non-exempt (eligible for overtime); Non-Union Location: Dallas, TX 75236 Essential functions/Responsibilities: duties include but are not limited to the following • Complete routine maintenance work and repairs throughout the property, • Handle basic plumbing, carpentry, painting, drywall/plastering, light electrical, appliance repairs, and general building repairs, • Assist with unit turns, make-ready work, and renovation projects as needed, • Respond to and complete service requests in a timely and professional manner, • Work closely with the Property Manager and Maintenance Supervisor/Superintendent to prioritize daily tasks, • Coordinate with residents to access apartments for scheduled repairs, • Help maintain common areas, walkways, exterior areas, grounds, tools, supplies, and equipment, • Track time, work completed, and service request updates as required, • Perform quality work with attention to detail, • Follow safety procedures and use tools/equipment properly, • Participate in on-call rotation as needed for after-hours maintenance emergencies Requirements: • Minimum of 2 years of maintenance, handyperson, or maintenance technician experience, • Residential, multifamily, apartment, affordable housing, hotel, or facilities maintenance experience preferred, • Working knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, drywall, appliance repair, and general repairs, • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, • Ability to manage multiple service requests and changing priorities, • Good communication skills and ability to work professionally with residents, staff, vendors, and management, • Comfortable using email, text messages, mobile apps, or work order systems for business purposes, • Reliable transportation to and from the property, • Own basic tools for general maintenance tasks preferred, • High school diploma or equivalent preferred, • Must be able to lift, bend, stoop, climb, reach, and perform physical maintenance tasks as needed Pay Range: $18.00 to $19.62 per hour Benefits: Paths offers a comprehensive benefits package, including: • Medical insurance - 100% of employee-only medical benefits paid by the company, • Dental and vision plan options, • Bonus eligibility, • 401(k) with company match, • Paid time off, • 12 paid company holidays, • Commuter benefits, • Voluntary short-term disability, long-term disability, life insurance, and dependent coverage, • Voluntary accident, critical illness, and hospital indemnity insurance, • Employee Referral Program, • Employee Assistance Program (EAP), • Performance-based growth opportunities https://recruiting.myapps.paychex.com/appone/MainInfoReq.asp?R_ID=7154481 Company DescriptionPaths is a full-scale, vertically integrated affordable housing developer, builder, and operator.
