Job DescriptionWe’re launching moonshot science projects which may change the trajectory of scientific progress. Large scale brain mapping, climate measurement, and software for math all have something in common - they each need a nonprofit legal entity, payroll providers, health benefits, boards, contracts, office space, press releases, websites… For each of the FROs that Convergent Research supports, we provide the backend infrastructure to help them move fast. Each of our projects moves from idea to company with a team in a matter of months. We’re looking for a Launch Coordinator to help our team organize and support the launch of new projects. You’ll help track progress, schedule milestones, coordinate with internal and external partners, and help keep everyone on the same page. This is a great opportunity for someone early in their career who wants to grow into project management or operations in the science and technology space. You’ll learn how new scientific organizations are built from the ground up and work alongside experienced operators who will mentor you along the way.You Are • A versatile problem-solver. You thrive in dynamic, fast-moving environments and aren’t afraid to roll up your sleeves. Whether it’s organizing a system, managing a client, or jumping into a new project, you get things done with creativity and resourcefulness., • Experienced in startup environments. You’ve spent at least 2 years in a fast-paced startup or similarly entrepreneurial setting, ideally in an operations, account management, or project coordination role. You know what it means to wear many hats!, • Operationally sharp. You’re comfortable managing workflows and tracking details in tools like Asana and Notion (or similar platforms such as Coda, Airtable, or Confluence). You enjoy creating structure out of chaos., • Emotionally intelligent and empathetic. You know how to read a room, build trust, and work well with a wide range of personalities. You lead with curiosity and care, not ego., • Proactive and curious. You like to ask questions, learn quickly, and take initiative once you understand the goal., • Organized and reliable. You can juggle multiple tasks, follow up on details, and help keep the team moving forward., • A strong communicator. You’re comfortable writing clear messages, following up with teammates, and asking for clarification when needed., • Collaborative and supportive. You enjoy helping others succeed and aren’t afraid to lend a hand wherever it’s needed., • Interested in science and technology. You don’t need a research background, but you’re excited about contributing to projects that push the boundaries of what’s possible., • Comfortable with change. Each FRO is unique — you’re adaptable and ready to learn new systems or processes as needed., • Based in the Northeast corridor (Boston - DC). You’re located within or near the major cities along the East Coast and can easily collaborate with a team that’s mostly in this region.You Will, • Support project coordination. Help track tasks, deadlines, and deliverables across multiple projects., • Facilitate communication. Keep team members and partners informed by updating project trackers, scheduling meetings, and taking notes., • Assist with onboarding new FROs. Help set up tools, templates, and systems for each new team., • Learn our processes. Understand how FROs are launched and help refine the playbook for future projects., • Pitch in on internal operations. Support internal initiatives, events, and administrative tasks as needed., • Participate in team meetings.
