The ideal candidate is hands-on with data, comfortable managing large datasets, and adept at communicating results to technical and non-technical stakeholders. Note: This role is in-office four days per week in Columbia, SC, with the option to work remotely one day per week. Responsibilities • Collect, clean, integrate, and transform large healthcare datasets, including Medicaid claims and provider files, to prepare for analysis., • Design and execute end-to-end analytical projects to evaluate Medicaid programs, utilization, expenditures, and provider performance., • Develop and maintain data pipelines, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to governance and data quality standards., • Conduct statistical analyses and predictive modeling to uncover actionable results that inform decision-making., • Create new frameworks and tools to automate data collection, validation, and reporting., • Build and maintain interactive dashboards and visualizations in SAS Visual Analytics, SAS Viya, Tableau, or Power BI to clearly communicate findings., • Prepare and present complex results in accessible reports, presentations, and briefings tailored to both technical and non-technical audiences., • Collaborate closely with Knowli leadership, SCDHHS staff, and partner teams to define analytical needs, troubleshoot issues, and deliver timely insights., • Audit data sources to ensure accuracy, compliance with policies, and consistency across reporting systems., • Identify, develop, and implement methods for improving reporting efficiency and analytic workflows., • Contribute to data integrity, governance, and best practices in programming, documentation, and visualization., • Maintain current knowledge of trends, practices, and innovations in healthcare analytics and Medicaid policy., • Abide by HIPAA, confidentiality, and privacy laws while handling sensitive data., • Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of the position.Minimum Qualifications, • Bachelors degree in a quantitative field (Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Public Health, Economics, Engineering, or related)., • Preferred: Masters degree in Data Science, Statistics, Biostatistics, Public Health, or related discipline., • Hands-on experience required with:, • SQL (data extraction, transformation, and schema design), • SAS Studio, SAS Visual Analytics, and SAS Viya, • Python (data wrangling, statistical libraries, and predictive modeling), • 35 years of professional experience conducting applied analysis with large, complex datasets., • Strong skills in statistical analysis, data manipulation, and healthcare data evaluation., • Demonstrated ability to independently scope and execute analytical projects., • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including technical writing and presentation of findings to diverse audiences., • Ability to collaborate in a team environment while managing multiple priorities under tight deadlines.Desired Skills & Competencies, • Experience with Medicaid, Medicare, or other healthcare claims datasets., • Familiarity with healthcare performance measurement and quality reporting (CMS, NQF, HEDIS, etc.)., • Knowledge of predictive analytics, risk adjustment, and program evaluation methodologies., • Proficiency with additional business intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI)., • Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on translating complex data into practical recommendations.
