Role Overview: The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for leading the electrical scope on major commercial and healthcare construction projects. This includes managing design coordination, estimating, subcontractor relationships, installation oversight, and system commissioning. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in power distribution, lighting, and low-voltage systems, along with a proven ability to manage the electrical components of complex, large-scale builds exceeding $200 million in value. This role offers the opportunity to be part of a technically advanced, collaborative team shaping critical infrastructure across the DFW area. Core Responsibilities: • Lead the electrical scope of work, ensuring systems meet design intent, quality standards, and schedule expectations., • Develop and evaluate electrical estimates, budgets, and system analyses during preconstruction., • Review electrical design options and provide value-engineering recommendations to optimize cost and performance., • Coordinate with design teams, subcontractors, and field personnel to ensure seamless MEP system integration., • Oversee installation of electrical systems, including switchgear, lighting, grounding, emergency power, and low-voltage networks., • Perform site inspections to confirm compliance with plans, specifications, and safety standards., • Manage and verify commissioning and testing of electrical systems, including power distribution and life-safety systems., • Review shop drawings and submittals for accuracy and constructability., • Participate in subcontractor bid reviews, scope development, and contract recommendations., • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to continuous improvement in MEP best practices. Required Background: • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)., • Minimum 10 years of electrical engineering or construction experience, preferably within a general contracting or design-build environment., • Proven success delivering large-scale commercial projects valued at $200 million or more., • Strong technical understanding of building electrical systems, including medium/low-voltage power, lighting, and control systems., • Ability to interpret and analyze electrical drawings, specifications, and commissioning documentation., • Experience managing subcontractors and coordinating with cross-functional project teams., • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills., • Valid driver’s license and willingness to work across the DFW region as needed., • Professional Engineer (PE) license or active progress toward licensure. (Preferred), • Previous experience with healthcare or hospital electrical systems (critical power, emergency, and life safety). (Preferred), • Familiarity with BIM coordination, construction technology, and commissioning processes. (Preferred), • Background in power distribution design, lighting systems, and low-voltage integration. (Preferred), • Experience leading MEP coordination meetings and resolving field design challenges.
