Job Description West Point Contractors currently has an immediate need for a Project Manager to oversee our FAA underground utility and paving project in Palmdale, CA. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the overall direction, completion, and financial outcome of this project and will ideally transition to manage the next West Coast project as it begins, traveling as needed. The candidate must have experience managing federal government projects and a proven ability to coordinate project teams, schedules, budgets, and resources to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget. What Makes West Point Unique? • Boutique-style firm where motivated individuals can advance quickly, • Highly competitive salaries, • Performance-based bonuses, • "Large company-style" comprehensive benefits + health package, • Health, dental, and vision insurance - 100% of premiums paid by the company for employees and dependents, • Additional benefits available (FSA, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, etc.), • 401(k) plan with matching program, • Paid vacation, sick, and family leave., • Coordinate communication between key stakeholders and project teams, • Monitor and report resources and daily operations, • Monitor costs to ensure profitability, margins, and expected financial performance, • Perform accurate project revenue and cost financial forecasting to ensure corporate profitability goals are met, • Run projects at profitability levels that meet or exceed expected margins, • Coordinate with estimators and project controls to establish budgets, • Develop comprehensive project start-up plans and lead successful kickoff meetings, • Create and maintain an environment of dynamic communication to ensure efficient, safe, and profitable work execution, • Ensure proper job controls including cost tracking, revenue, scheduling, and document management, • Establish and maintain relationships with owners, vendors, partners, and subcontractors, ensuring excellent customer service and long-term partnerships, • Prepare accurate project reports for continuous performance improvement, • Build, lead, and manage diverse project teams, • Schedule appropriate personnel; ensure team members are working effectively and safely, • Budget and track costs; keep accurate expense records tied to project scope, • Develop project budgets and estimates for contract changes, • Assemble project contracts and negotiate buyout during contracting, • Schedule suppliers, equipment, and materials; manage mobilization and demobilization, • Verify contract compliance and maintain document controls, • Work independently and collaboratively, • Develop, establish, and implement department-related procedures for companywide use, • 7+ years of progressive experience in a construction management environment, • Required experience on federal or public works projects-particularly FAA, USACE, NAVFAC, USAF, or U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, • Knowledge of construction, tenant improvements, repairs/alterations, civil work, and utilities, • Ability to work in a high-production environment, • Demonstrated decision-making skills, • Excellent leadership, supervisory, communication, and organizational skills, • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), • Familiarity with BuilderTrend or other construction software preferred, • Job Type: Full-time, • Travel required, • Preference given to candidates residing in a HUBZone-designated area, • When applying, include a detailed listing of major federal projects-contractor, agency, contract amount, and work summary, • This is not a remote position; relocation assistance not anticipated. Successful candidates must be able to obtain clearance to Federal project sites. This includes, but is not limited to: Department of Defense (Air Force, Navy, Army), Department of Transportation, Federal Aviation Administration, Department of Veteran Affairs, United States Army Corp. of Engineers, Mission & Installation Contracting Command, Federal Bureau of Prisons. These clearances include entry level background checks can also include, fingerprinting, proof of citizenship, declaration for federal employment, tuberculosis testing, and credit checks. It is the responsibility of the employee to maintain the ability to obtain installation access, it is a condition of the position.
