Bronx Community Senior Center is looking to hire a Full Time Case Worker to work 35 hours per week. Prior experience working in Senior Citizen Community centers. RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES/FUNCTIONS/TASKS · Ensure member records, registration, intake, and permission forms are accurate and current. · Provide information on entitlements or make referrals to individuals trained to deal with entitlements. · Conduct in-office interviews with clients for assessment/reassessment and follow-up. · Be knowledgeable and familiar with entitlements, programs, and procedures. · Maintain accurate and current member files i.e., registration, intake, waiver, and permission forms. · Maintain written records of contacts with clients. · Responsible for establishing and maintaining the Telephone Reassurance service. · Train Telephone Reassurance Volunteers. · Coordinate and supervise telephone reassurance schedules. · Responsible for the collection and compilation of all supporting documentation for Case Assistance and Telephone Reassurance. · Responsible for maintaining STARS client data profiles current and accurate. · Conduct membership registrations. · Perform other duties as needed. MINIMUM EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Bachelor's degree (e.g., B.A., B.S.W.) and/or equivalent experience. We are seeking a highly-motivated, professional, and reliable individual to fulfill a Paralegal position in the Workers’ Compensation Department of an established Glendale, Queens Office. Central daily responsibilities include: Heavy volume client communication; periodic file reviews; hearing preparation; follow-up on carrier payments; evaluation of case status; follow-up on medical requests with doctor’s offices; coordinating medical care and determining status of client treatment; filing of fee applications; contact with claim’s adjusters; drafting of correspondence to all appropriate parties; and explanation of detailed legal issues to clients. The ability to handle heavy call volume with outstanding customer service skills is imperative in maintaining this position. The ability to set priorities and successfully manage any changes in priority is required. The ideal candidate for this position enjoys strong client contact and communication. You must enjoy working on the phone, as that is critical your success and enjoyment at this firm.
