Job DescriptionJob Title: Nurse Manager – Behavioral Health (RN) Location: Aventura, FL Job Type: Full-Time (Permanent) Schedule: Days (No Weekends) Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Nurse Manager – Behavioral Health (RN) to lead and oversee operations within a Behavioral Health unit in an acute care hospital setting. This role is responsible for ensuring high-quality patient care, operational efficiency, staff leadership, and regulatory compliance. The Nurse Manager will work closely with physicians, hospital leadership, and interdisciplinary teams to drive clinical excellence, patient satisfaction, and departmental performance. This position carries 24/7 accountability for unit operations and staff performance. Key ResponsibilitiesDepartment Operations • Oversee daily operations of the Behavioral Health unit, • Manage staffing schedules and workflow efficiency, • Ensure achievement of quality, productivity, and patient satisfaction goals, • Maintain compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards, • Support effective patient care delivery and unit performanceLeadership & Staff Management, • Provide leadership, direction, and supervision to Behavioral Health staff, • Participate in:, • Hiring, • Performance evaluations, • Disciplinary actions, • Foster collaboration with hospital leadership, physicians, and care teams, • Promote a culture of safe, patient-centered care, • Support staff engagement, development, and retentionQuality & Compliance, • Ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements, • Monitor and improve departmental quality metrics, • Promote a culture of accountability, safety, and clinical excellenceUnit Details, • 53-bed Behavioral Health unit, • Approximately 108 FTEs, including:, • Behavioral Health Technicians (BHTs), • Registered Nurses (RNs), • Clinical Nurse Coordinators (CNCs), • RN-to-patient ratio: 1:8, • Patient population: Adult and geriatric, • Full 24/7 operational oversight responsibilityRequired QualificationsEducation, • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited School of Nursing (required)Licensure & Certifications, • Current Florida RN license or Compact RN license (required), • BLS certification (required; must obtain within 30 days if not current), • ACLS certification (required; must obtain within 30 days if not current), • CPI – Nonviolent Crisis Intervention certification (required within 90 days of start)Experience, • Minimum 3 years of Behavioral Health nursing experience in an acute care hospital (required), • Minimum 3 years of leadership experience in an acute care setting (required), including roles such as:, • Charge Nurse, • Clinical Coordinator, • Nursing Supervisor, • Nurse ManagerPreferred Experience, • 3–5 years of inpatient psychiatric clinical experience, • At least 1 year of leadership experience as:, • Charge RN, • Assistant Nurse Manager About Navitas Healthcare, LLC: It is a certified WBENC and one of the fastest-growing healthcare staffing firms in the US providing Medical, Clinical and Non-Clinical services to numerous hospitals.
