This role links service delivery between King County Information Technology (KCIT) and the Department of Natural Resources and Parks (DNRP) by supporting activities that enable environmental stewardship, park operations, utilities management, and natural resource protection. Emphasizing interagency collaboration, this rolefacilitatesoperational continuity, service performance, stakeholder partnership, continuous improvement, and the integration of Equity and Social Justice (ESJ) principles into service delivery practices and project outcomes. This position will work in partnership,operatingunder the guidance of the KCIT Customer Success Management team to support the business needs of DNRP. This position is estimated as a 2-year Term Limited Temporary opportunity. Project Planning, Coordination, and Documentation • Coordinate and support the delivery of ongoing Information Technology (IT) service projects/programs including supporting agency readiness for server updates and maintenance, networking enhancements, changes to the incorporation of Geographical Information System (GIS) changes, integration with Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) and KCIT technology at various locations across the county. Including but not limited to mission-critical systems supplied by KCIT, this position supports DNRP's parks operations, wastewater treatment, solid waste transfer stations, environmental services, and natural resource management., • This position is responsible for coordinating the delivery of technology-related communications and implementation across DNRP, working under the guidance of the KCIT Customer Success Management team to ensure technology services and initiatives are aligned with departmental priorities and delivered in a coordinated, responsive manner., • Coordinate project/program activities in complex and dynamic team environments with strong leadership and organization skills including schedule, manage and report ongoing operational maintenance., • Coordinate and support service transitions for updated systems or enhancements., • In partnership with DNRP leadership and KCIT, ensure compliance with county IT standards, cybersecurity policies, data governance requirements, information retention, and applicable environmental or regulatory mandates., • Support the coordination of governance, project gate reviews, and approvals, ensuring adherence to KCIT and DNRP project oversight processes., • Coordinate communications and implementation efforts within DNRP under the guidance of the KCIT Customer Success Management team. Stakeholder Collaboration, • Successfully navigate complex stakeholder relationships, across divisions and agencies in conjunction with operational managers, field crews, vendors, and external partners to coordinate ongoing service excellence., • Synchronize cross-functional team efforts including infrastructure, construction, and agency stakeholders with key KCIT technology owners such as Modern Workplace, Data Services, Networks, Security, Production Operations., • Promote collaboration and consensus among cross-functional teams with differing viewpoints.Communication, Documentation and Reporting, • Support KCIT teams in conducting post-implementation reviews and document lessons learned to improve future service delivery., • Work closely with field-based management and operational staff, ensuring Information Technology (IT) solutions support both office and remote/field environments., • Work within a public-sector environment requires a high level of transparency, accountability, and adherence to county policies and public records requirements., • Effectively manage multiple tasks and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. Balance and prioritize multiple projects/programs simultaneously to ensure effectiveness. Demonstrate strong organization skills to handle competing priorities and meet deadlines., • Ability to apply analytics for interpreting service performance metrics and operational data, including expertise with toolset to broadcast project status and follow up and completion of multiple work streams. Delivery Management • 3-5 years' experience coordinating or leading systems, processes, services and projects/programs in a complex public sector environment., • Strong planning and coordination skills in complex, multi-stakeholder environments across a variety of goals and deliverables., • Deep public sector governance, and compliance knowledge and background., • Basic understanding of a variety of project methodologies including Agile, Waterfall, hybrid as well as expertise in project management, reporting and collaboration tools such as Microsoft Excel, Project and Miro., • Experience in application support and management at both departmental and enterprise levels, ensuring systems consistently meet business needs and comply with established service level agreements. Organizational Skills, • Excellent organizational and program/project management skills., • Demonstrated ability to perform self-directed work independently, while contributing effectively to team efforts and incorporating guidance from a supervisor., • Ability to manage competing day-to-day operational service demands., • Able to think critically, foster creativity and encourage problem-solving., • Ability to coordinate work of multi-disciplinary staff.Communication, • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with knowledge of and sensitivity to equity and inclusion within King County., • Ability to translate technical concepts into clear communication for operational and executive audiences., • Ability to engage and manage stakeholder engagement across diverse operational units., • Risk identification, communication and mitigation, particularly for critical public-facing or infrastructure systems., • Demonstrated experience in effective facilitation, conflict resolution, and negotiation, enabling the ability to guide stakeholders toward compromise and establish sustainable, long-term agreements., • Demonstrated excellence in presenting information clearly and effectively, with strong written and verbal communication skills., • Superior presentation, written and oral communication skills. Desirable Qualifications, • Knowledge of the Department of Natural Resources and Parks (DNRP) and its various divisions to align project goals with the department's mission and objectives., • Knowledge of specific program DNRP agency knowledge including networking, server maintenance, facility/construction coordination., • Demonstrated technical knowledge of foundational infrastructure systems, such as cloud services, on-premises computing environments, network architectures, and cybersecurity principles. Hybrid Work: KCIT works in a hybrid model, with days in the office as well as telecommuting. The ratio of remote to onsite work will be dependent on business needs and is subject to change. The primary on-site location is the Chinook Building at 401 5th Avenue, Seattle, WA, with occasional work at other KCIT and DNRP locations as needed. Employees must reside in Washington state and within a reasonable distance to their King County worksite to respond to workplace reporting requirements.
