Job DescriptionJob Title: General Production Worker Job Description This role supports a busy fabrication and welding operation by preparing materials, maintaining clean and organized workspaces, and assisting with a variety of production tasks. You will work closely with the welding department, performing tack welding, sanding, grinding, and layout of brackets while learning to operate welding equipment and other tools. The position involves hands-on work with metal components, equipment upkeep, and basic inspection to ensure quality and safety on the production floor. Responsibilities • Maintain workspaces, tooling, and production areas in a clean, organized, and safe condition., • Assist the welding department with daily operations, including tack welding and basic fabrication tasks., • Prepare materials for welding and fabrication, including sanding, grinding, and layout of brackets and components., • Perform general production and manual labor tasks such as handling materials, operating basic machinery, and using power tools., • Replenish consumables on the production floor, ensuring welding and fabrication teams have necessary supplies., • Operate hand tools, power tools, and basic production equipment in a safe and efficient manner., • Support mechanical assembly and construction-related tasks as needed within the facility., • Conduct basic inspection of workpieces to verify quality, accuracy, and adherence to specifications., • Assist with sandblasting and other surface preparation activities when required., • Follow all safety procedures and guidelines while working in an industrial indoor/outdoor environment., • Collaborate with team members and remain teachable, taking direction and feedback to improve skills over time.Essential Skills, • Experience in general manufacturing or production environments., • Ability to perform general labor and manual work for extended periods., • Comfort using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively., • Basic understanding of machine operation and mechanical assembly tasks., • Willingness and ability to assist with welding-related activities such as tack welding and material prep., • Capability to perform sanding, grinding, and other fabrication support tasks., • Attention to detail when inspecting parts and materials for quality., • Good attitude, reliability, and strong work ethic., • Teachable mindset with openness to training on welding equipment and new production processes., • Ability to work in industrial, construction-like environments in both hot and cold weather conditions.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Background in general manufacturing or construction settings., • Experience with sandblasting or surface preparation is a plus., • Familiarity with inspection processes in a production or fabrication environment., • Comfort working around heavy fabrication equipment and machinery., • Ability to adapt to rotating shift schedules and long shifts., • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a production team.Why Work Here? Work Environment The role is based in a very industrial indoor and outdoor facility with extensive fabrication activity. The setting feels more like a construction site than a traditional manufacturing plant, with heavy equipment, metalwork, and active production areas. You must be comfortable working in all weather conditions, including hot and cold temperatures, and navigating an environment with ongoing welding, grinding, and sandblasting. Multiple rotating shifts are available: A and B shifts are day shifts running from 6:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., while C and D shifts are night shifts from 6:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. The shift pattern follows a repeating rotation across days of the week, requiring flexibility and reliability for long, structured shifts in a demanding industrial setting. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Pueblo, CO. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
