Think of it like air traffic control for robotaxis. You’ll monitor vehicles and service operations in real time to make sure trips are running safely and smoothly. You’ll work primarily from a computer, monitoring the fleet, completing pre-shift checks, troubleshooting basic vehicle issues, and responding when something unexpected happens. Day-to-day, you’ll coordinate with teams across the company to resolve issues and keep operations moving. This could include creating and escalating tickets, dispatching Fleet Response crews when a vehicle needs assistance, monitoring road conditions or events that may impact service, and placing temporary restrictions on certain areas when needed. The role is fast-paced and requires strong communication, attention to detail, good judgment, and the ability to stay calm and resourceful when problems come up. Company Overview The company is a San Francisco-based autonomous vehicle company. They were founded in 2014 and became an independently operated subsidiary of Amazon in 2020. The company was founded to make personal transportation safer, cleaner, and more enjoyable for everyone. The company is developing the first ground-up, fully autonomous vehicle fleet and the supporting ecosystem required to bring this technology to market. Sitting at the intersection of robotics, machine learning, and design, aims to provide the next generation of mobility-as-a-service in urban environments. Candidate Profile & Disqualifiers Target Profile • Operations, dispatch, or command center experience, • Fleet, logistics, transportation, or autonomous vehicle experience, • Customer support or service operations in a fast-paced environment, • Emergency response, security, or incident management experience, • Experience monitoring multiple systems and responding to real-time issues, • Experience coordinating teams, dispatching resources, or escalating incidents, • Tech-savvy and comfortable working across multiple systems Wrong Profile • Primarily retail, hospitality, or basic customer service experience without an operations component, • Mostly independent or task-based work with limited real-time decision-making, • Little experience working with computers or multiple systems, • No experience monitoring operations, dispatching, or coordinating teams, • Limited exposure to troubleshooting or incident resolution, • Background is heavily manual/labor-focused without an operational or technical component, • Limited experience working in fast-paced, high-accountability environments, • Roles where the candidate primarily follows instructions rather than takes initiative or makes decisions Disqualifiers • Not available to work full-time on-site, • Has not had a valid in-state driver's license and 3 years of consecutive licensure, • Not able to pass a drug screen, background check, and motor vehicle report, • Poor communication skills, • Lacks interest and enthusiasm in the role or company, • Lacks technical experience Soft skills to look for • Strong communicator who can coordinate clearly across teams, • Calm under pressure and comfortable in a fast-paced environment, • Proactive problem-solver who takes initiative and follows issues through, • Detail-oriented with strong judgment and situational awareness Candidate Screening & Submission Process 1.
