The RA performs clinical, lab, and administrative tasks as needed for the successful operation of Phase 1 operations, and the clinical research site. Key ResponsibilitiesEssential Job Duties: In collaboration with other members of the clinical research site team, assists with the execution of assigned studies, and support functions as needed. Number will vary depending on size of location. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Resurgens’s policies and all applicable laws. QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE • Degree from an appropriately accredited Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, or Athletic Training program, • Active Georgia, and/or National licensure in specified discipline (Athletic Trainer, Physical or Occupational Therapist) permitting them to work in this state · Knowledge of budgeting principles and interpretation of financial data · Basic working knowledge of Windows, Internet Explorer, Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook · Effective verbal and written communication skills · Ability to make independent decisions after gathering information from available sources · Ability to deal with conflict constructively and seek resolution with those involved PHYSICAL DEMANDS While performing the duties of this job, employee is regularly required to utilize standard office equipment including computers, keyboards, fax machines, copiers, printers, telephones, etc. While performing the duties of this job, employee is regularly required to sit, stand for extended periods, walk, reach with hands and arms, and to talk and hear. Job Description Kaiser Permanente/ The Southeast Permanente Medical Group (TSPMG) Palliative Care Nurse Case Manager The Palliative/Geriatric Care Nurse Case Manager will be a member of the interdisciplinary palliative care team, responsible for assessing and educating members with serious and life-threatening diseases that are referred to the Palliative Care program. Under the direction of the Palliative Care Physician, the Nurse Case Manager serves as a liaison for patients, families of patients, care givers, and referring physicians. This position plays a pivotal role in the provision of palliative care consultations, as well as providing assistance in the primary care of seriously ill patients and their families. This person will need recent clinical experience since they may also need to perform basic clinical nursing duties, i.e., starting iv’s, blood pressure checks, escorting patients, preparing patients for the physician exam, and giving injections. The work for this role can cover the ambulatory setting and inpatient palliative care team. Candidate will perform duties within the scope of practice allowed by the State of Georgia. Major Responsibilities/Essential Functions • Responsible for the day-to-day palliative care case activities and assigned caseload of patients. Including assignment of new patients and ongoing assessment and intervention of existing patients., • Coordinates discharge planning with IPCC/ team social worker as needed to the next level of care., • Communicates regularly with palliative care patients and family members to ensure follow through and adherence to treatment regime is successful. Provides assistance with scheduling, coordination of treatments, requests for information and psychosocial support., • Serves as an advocate for patients and family members regarding their needs and concerns about their diagnosis, medications, and treatment options. Communicates with all members of the healthcare team as appropriate about patient/family needs and concerns. Provides direction to patients with unmet needs or gaps in resources, i.e., insurance, transportation, childcare, financial resources, language barriers, etc. Facilitates access to appropriate community resources to address patient concerns so they may focus on treatment and recovery. Refers to other team members as appropriate i.e., social worker, chaplain, physician., • Assists in the role as outpatient palliative care clinic nurse. Duties include rooming patients and performing initial assessments before the physician’s exam participates in IDT consultations and assists inpatient as the palliative care nurse in consultations. Minimum Education • Unrestricted current Georgia RN License, • BSN Preferred Education • Master’s degree in nursing, • ARNP Minimum Work Experience and Qualifications • 1-2 years clinical nursing experience in an area such as hospice nursing care, oncology, or palliative care, • Ability to work independently in a self-directed environment, • Valid Georgia driver’s license, • Knowledge of case management principles, professional practice standards, • Strong written and oral communication skills required and functional knowledge of computers, • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from physicians, staff, and patients.
