Job DescriptionDescription: JOB SUMMARY The Junior Batch Maker prepares and processes product batches in accordance with approved formulas, quality standards, and regulatory requirements under the guidance of the PDQA Director and Batch Maker. This role focuses on accurate execution of established procedures, careful documentation, and adherence to quality and safety standards while developing the technical knowledge and judgment necessary to perform batching operations independently. BENEFITS This position is eligible for a range of employee benefits, including: • 80 hours of paid time off per year, increasing to 120 hours after one year, • 19.5 days of paid holidays per year (based on 2026 calendar; dependent on year), • Company-subsidized health insurance for individuals or families, • Company-funded HRA: $2,000 for individual coverage or $4,000 for family coverage to offset or cover deductible costs of an elected Company-sponsored health insurance plan, • Participation in the Company’s annual profit-sharing plan, • Company contributions to a 401(k) program after one year of employment, • 100% Company-funded legal insurance, ensuring employees have access to legal counsel, • 100% Company-funded enrollment in a comprehensive Employee Assistance Program, providing employees with essential support for personal and professional challenges, • 100% Company-funded dental and vision insurance, • 100% Company-funded supplemental short-term and long-term disability insurance, group life insurance, and AD&D insurance The Junior Batch Maker is responsible for a variety of essential tasks, which include the following: Individual Contribution & Development • Prepare and process product batches in accordance with approved formulas, production instructions, and operational standards under the guidance of the PDQA Director and Batch Maker., • Accurately measure, weigh, mix, and blend raw materials to produce products that meet established specifications., • Conduct required batch testing (including BRIX, pH, and other quality measures) and report results; implement adjustments as directed and escalate deviations to the Batch Maker or PDQA Director., • Complete batch documentation accurately and support review processes to ensure integrity and traceability., • Assist the Batch Maker with inventory checks, staging of raw materials, and preparation for batching operations., • Coordinate with Production and Quality Assurance personnel to support efficient workflow and clear communication of batch status., • Ensure adherence to GMP, food safety, allergen, sanitation, and regulatory requirements within batching operations., • Verify raw materials are available and properly staged prior to use and report any discrepancies. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE The ideal Junior Batch Maker has the following qualifications: • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Manufacturing, or a related field preferred, or an equivalent combination of related work experience, training, and/or education sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job., • 1–2 years of experience in food, beverage, or related manufacturing operations preferred., • Familiarity with basic quality measurements (e.g., BRIX, pH) and GMP or food safety standards preferred. The ideal Junior Batch Maker has the following knowledge, skills, and abilities: • Batching & Manufacturing Fundamentals: Basic understanding of batching or manufacturing processes within food, beverage, or related production environments., • Formula & Procedure Adherence: Ability to accurately follow formulas, production instructions, and established procedures., • Quality Measurement Awareness: Familiarity with basic quality measurements such as BRIX and pH, with a willingness to develop competency in interpreting results., • Food Safety & GMP Knowledge: Working knowledge of good manufacturing practices, food safety, allergen control, and sanitation standards., • Attention to Detail & Documentation: Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate and complete production records., • Time Management & Scheduling Support: Ability to manage time effectively and support production schedules and daily workflow., • Team Communication & Collaboration: Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
