We’re seeking an experienced Solar Program Manager to lead a multi-year, multi-site solar portfolio delivering rooftop and carport PV projects for a large public school district in Southern California. This is a senior leadership role responsible for end-to-end program execution; from design through construction, commissioning, and closeout, while building and leading a high-performing project management team. This role combines hands-on project ownership with people leadership, serving as the primary client interface and escalation point while ensuring excellence in safety, quality, schedule, budget, and customer satisfaction. This role is remote, with a 50% on-site expectation in LA County. Key Responsibilities • Own delivery of a large, multi-site solar program (scope, schedule, budget, safety, and client satisfaction), • Serve as senior point of contact with public-sector stakeholders and district leadership, • Lead and mentor Project Managers; build scalable delivery teams and processes, • Oversee solar design, permitting, interconnection, DSA review, and construction execution, • Proactively manage program-wide risks, dependencies, and performance metrics, • Ensure timely revenue recognition, billing, and collections, • Own P&L for assigned projects and support portfolio-level financial performance, • Collaborate with development and engineering teams on budgets, schedules, and value engineering, • Negotiate contracts, change orders, and subcontractor agreements, • Drive continuous improvement through lessons learned and best-practice sharing Qualifications Required • 10+ years managing complex construction portfolios or multi-site programs ($10M+), • 10+ years of solar PV project management experience, • Proven leadership in public-sector or institutional projects (K-12, municipal, or similar), • Strong understanding of permitting, interconnection, and construction execution in California, • Experience with the DSA and LAUSD, • Ability to lead teams, manage stakeholders, and deliver under pressure, • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field, • PMP certification, • Deep knowledge of NEC code and electrical systems Why This Role • Lead a high-visibility solar program with long-term expansion potential, • Significant autonomy to shape teams, processes, and outcomes, • Opportunity to deliver meaningful clean energy impact at community scale #Solar #Construction #ProjectManagement
