This role is critical for providing advanced diagnostic imaging for the Emergency Department and inpatient units during high-acuity weekend hours. NWH is known for its "private hospital" feel combined with the academic resources of a major medical system, requiring a technologist with both exceptional technical skill and a strong patient-centered approach. Key Responsibilities • Advanced Neuro & Body Imaging: Perform high-resolution MRI scans, including stroke protocols, spinal cord assessments, and emergency abdominal imaging., • Safety Screening: Execute rigorous MRI safety screenings for patients, staff, and equipment to prevent accidents within the Zone IV magnetic environment., • Siemens Platform Mastery: Operate Siemens MRI scanners (preferred) with precision, adjusting sequences to optimize image quality while minimizing scan time for acute patients., • Contrast Administration: Safely administer gadolinium-based contrast agents, monitoring for renal function and potential allergic reactions., • Independent Workflow: Manage the MRI suite independently during night hours, prioritizing STAT orders from the ED and coordinating with the on-call radiologist.Requirements & Qualifications, • Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in MRI technology is required., • Equipment Proficiency: Experience with Siemens MRI equipment is highly preferred., • Certification: Active ARRT (MR) registration is required., • Licensure: Active Massachusetts State Radiologic Technologist License., • Life Support: Current BLS (American Heart Association) required., • Education: Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology or MRI program.Unit & Facility Details, • Facility: Newton-Wellesley Hospital (NWH)., • Setting: Hospital-based MRI Department (NW7050)., • Location: 2014 Washington St, Newton, MA 02462., • Schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (Friday–Sunday nights), totaling 36 hours per week., • Position Status: This is a Critical Order with high urgency.Financial & Logistics Notes, • Start Date: The 03/29/2026 start is contingent upon credentialing clearance; delay in clearance will result in a pushed start date.
