Job Description Job Title: Skilled Laborer (Construction) Job Description This role focuses on installing, assembling, and relocating office furniture and equipment in commercial environments. You will help build and set up office spaces, including cubicles and desk configurations, ensuring that all furniture is safely and correctly installed according to project specifications. Responsibilities • Install and assemble office furniture and appliances according to layout plans and manufacturer instructions., • Build and set up cubicles and office spaces, including panels, desks, and related components., • Disassemble, move, and reinstall existing furniture and office fixtures as needed., • Adjust desk setups and reconfigure workstations to meet changing office requirements., • Safely move and position office furniture and equipment within customer sites., • Use hand tools and power tools to complete construction, assembly, and installation tasks., • Follow all safety guidelines and best practices on job sites, including OSHA standards., • Inspect completed work to ensure quality, stability, and proper function of installed items., • Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in clean and orderly condition., • Proven experience in construction, assembly, contracting, handyman work, or similar skilled labor roles., • Ability to use a wide range of hand tools and power tools to build and assemble furniture and office fixtures., • Experience with furniture assembly, furniture installation, and furniture building in commercial or office environments., • OSHA 10 certification or willingness to obtain it with company support., • Valid and clean state-issued driver’s license., • Strong installation skills, including accurate measurement, alignment, and secure fastening., • Ability to lift, move, and position office furniture and equipment safely., • Experience in general construction or contracting work., • Hands-on experience with office furniture systems and cubicle installation., • Comfort working with sheetrock and basic interior construction tasks., • Previous experience in a handyman or installer role., • Ability to read and follow basic floor plans or installation diagrams., • Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability on changing job sites. Work Environment This is a full-time role with a typical schedule of Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Work takes place in commercial and office environments where you will install and configure furniture and equipment on-site. The role is hands-on and physically active, requiring regular use of hand tools and power tools and frequent lifting and moving of furniture. You will work closely with a field team in a setting that emphasizes safety, efficiency, and professional conduct. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of East Rochester, NY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $24.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
