Trademark Docket Clerk Locations: New York, NY or Boston, MA Compensation: $85,000 – $105,000 + strong overall package Schedule: Hybrid | 3 days onsite A highly respected Am Law-caliber law firm is seeking a Trademark Docket Clerk to join its growing Intellectual Property team in either New York or Boston. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented IP docketing professional to step into a visible role supporting a sophisticated trademark practice with both U.S. and foreign prosecution matters. This position will be responsible for maintaining the integrity of the firm’s trademark docket, processing incoming trademark-related correspondence, monitoring deadlines, updating records, and partnering closely with attorneys, paralegals, and legal support professionals across the IP function. The ideal candidate will bring strong trademark prosecution knowledge, sound judgment, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Key Responsibilities: • Maintain and monitor the firm’s trademark docketing system, ensuring accuracy and completeness of all deadlines and case data, • Process incoming U.S. and foreign trademark mail, correspondence, and notices from clients, the USPTO, foreign agents, and trademark offices, • Docket, update, revise, and remove deadlines related to trademark, copyright, and dispute matters, • Review and quality check work product to ensure accuracy of entries, deadlines, and case information, • Monitor daily deadlines and apply extensions, grace periods, and procedural updates where appropriate, • Open and process new trademark matters through docketing, records, and document management systems, • Save and distribute incoming correspondence to the appropriate electronic files and internal stakeholders, • Run daily, weekly, and monthly reports for attorneys and internal teams, • Assist with trademark portfolio transfers, intake requests, and matter maintenance in coordination with Records, Billing, and related departments, • Research case status, bibliographic data, and procedural rules through the USPTO and foreign trademark office websites, • Identify discrepancies, incomplete items, or deadline issues and resolve or escalate as needed, • Support ongoing process improvement efforts, docketing best practices, and internal procedural documentation Qualifications: • 3–6+ years of experience in trademark docketing within a law firm or comparable legal environment, • Strong working knowledge of U.S. and foreign trademark prosecution, deadlines, and procedural requirements, • Experience with WebTMS or another IP docketing platform strongly preferred, • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, document management systems, and legal workflow platforms, • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and follow-through, • Ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively under pressure, • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, • Professional, responsive, and collaborative approach with attorneys, staff, and leadership, • Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience, • This is a strong opportunity to join a collaborative and well-established platform with a respected
