Our client is a manufacturer that produces nutritional supplements. They focus on developing high-quality, science-driven products while maintaining stringent quality and regulatory standards. They are currently expanding their team and looking to bring on a Scientist (Oil-Based Formulations). Salary/Hourly Rate: $85k - $90k Position Overview: The Scientist (Oil-Based Formulations) will develop and support oil-based dietary supplement formulations, including oil suspensions, lipid systems, and softgel-compatible fills. This hands-on role works closely with Product Development, Quality, Operations, Purchasing, and Sales to bring new products from concept through commercialization. Responsibilities of the Scientist (Oil-Based Formulations): • Formulate and optimize oil-based products for dietary supplements and foods., • Support additional dosage forms as needed (liquids, capsules, powders)., • Troubleshoot formulation and processing issues during development and scale-up., • Source ingredients, support formulation costing, and assess feasibility., • Maintain formulation records and support QA documentation., • Perform and assist with QC testing (GC, HPLC, ICP-MS)., • The Scientist (Oil-Based Formulations) will run bench-top, pilot, and scale-up batches., • Maintain lab equipment, materials, and documentation., • Collaborate cross-functionally to meet project timelines. Required Experience/Skills for the Scientist (Oil-Based Formulations):, • 3+ years of product development experience in dietary supplements, food, or cosmetics., • Strong experience with oil-based formulation and lipid systems., • Knowledge of natural product chemistry and formulation costing., • Strong documentation, organization, and communication skills., • Ability to manage multiple projects independently. Preferred Experience/Skills for the Scientist (Oil-Based Formulations):, • The Scientist (Oil-Based Formulations) should ideally have GMP and DSHEA familiarity., • Scale-up and commercialization experience. Education Requirements:, • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related field is required.
