American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN CVICU for a travel nursing job in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Job Description & Requirements • Specialty: CVICU, • Discipline: RN, • Start Date: 04/20/2026, • Duration: 13 weeks, • 36 hours per week, • Shift: 12 hours, nights, • Employment Type: Travel Assignment Overview • Shift: Nights, 3x12hrs, • Hours: 36 hrs/wk, • Start Date: Apr 20, 2026, • Length: 13 weeks, • 13-week contract, night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:30), • CVICU unit within a 554-bed Level I Trauma, academic teaching hospital that also serves as a children's hospital, • Patient population includes post-op open heart surgery (CABG, aortic aneurysm/dissection repair), Fem-Pop bypass, pulmonary embolism, cardiac arrest, endovascular repair, heart failure, MODS, and sepsis, • Patient ratio of 1:2, • Specialized procedures include post-op open heart care, bedside trach/PEG, bedside surgical procedures, CRRT, ECMO, IABP, Impella, Swan-Ganz catheters, arterial lines, CVCs, chest tubes, Foley insertion, and NG tubes, • Equipment used includes CRRT, Hemosphere, Bladderscanner, Cortrak, ultrasound, Philips monitors, Impella, IABP, ECMO, ZOLL, Dopplers, GlideScope, Pupilometer, Blanketrol, Arctic Sun, Belmont, and Bair Hugger, • Charting via Cerner, • Weekends required as needed, • Floating may be required to other ICUs, PCU floors, ED (for admitted patients), and PACU (for admitted patients), • No on-call required, • Free parking on-siteRequirements, • Active NM or Compact RN license required; pending license accepted, • Current certifications: BLS and ACLS, • Minimum 2 years of RN experience required, • CVICU experience preferred, • Proficiency with advanced cardiovascular equipment (ECMO, IABP, Impella, CRRT, Swan-Ganz catheters) required, • COVID vaccination required; religious and medical exemptions accepted with a completed exemption form signed by a provider, • Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position, • 2 professional supervisor references from within the past 2 years required for consideration, • Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained required for considerationAdditional Information, • First-time travelers are welcome to apply, • Black scrubs required, • Time-off requests exceeding 7 days require prior approval; all scheduling requests must be submitted upfront With thousands of travel nursing and allied jobs nationwide, our attentive and approachable recruiters find positions that align perfectly with your career aspirations and personal requirements.
