Job Description:\n\nCompany Description Job Description The Senior Designer is responsible for collaborating with the CCO, VP’s, Design, and Directors, Design in the creation, execution, oversight, and documentation of a project’s comprehensive interiors scheme, involving the coordination of interior architecture, space programming, space planning, FF&E and color/materials. The Senior Designer supports the Directors, Design with the design, selection, and specification of all furnishings, fixtures, and finishes (custom or commercially available) and is responsible for understanding the creative, technical, budgetary, operational and design document coordination accountability for all facets of the interior FF&E package. The Senior Designer leads the development and interdisciplinary coordination of all design documents and specifications to ensure the highest quality of design representation for use and coordination by the entire project team. WDD team members are required on a continual basis to:Contribute to a safe work environment through compliance with established safety guidelines, identifying potential safety hazards, and reporting the same to the appropriate person for proper resolution.Maintain a professional and ethical departmental, company and community reputation and comply with the Company’s policies and procedures.At all times, demonstrate integrity and honesty in recording all work and project time.Demonstrates the expected behaviors and upholds the established values of Wynn Resorts. Essential Duties and Responsibilities for all Senior Designers:Assist the Director, Design in the leadership and management of the design team through positive interactions, coaching, and guidance.Provide recommendations for mentoring, coaching, and counseling team members through regular positive and constructive feedback, 1:1’s, training and performance reviews (performance management)Develop and manage all design documentation from the conceptual design phase through construction administration, including field reviews, and the submittal/shop drawing process.Review and assess the space plan and program, providing input and confirmation to the project team regarding fundamental issues of interior planning and design at the onset of a project and at all milestone reviews and work sessions.Research creative resources, ideas, historical precedents, materials, furnishings, fixtures, and finishes in collaboration with the Directors, Design to ensure that the best possible creative solutions and innovations are continually researched, reviewed, and incorporated as needed.Prepare and review conceptual and milestone design presentations of all FF&E, color selections, and finish/material specifications for both internal and external review and approval.Participate in design and documentation quality assurance reviews with the design team before issuance of all milestone deliverable packages.Continually coordinate and review designs with the digital design team in the development and updates of all design renderings.Assist the Director, Design with leading internal and external design and coordination work sessions, record all information discussed, and compose meeting minutes to be disseminated among the design team.Provide total quality assurance of all design documentation, ensuring the accuracy of design intent and documentation standards, technical competency of materials, and methods defined within design documents.Assist the Director, Design in project team development, maintenance, and organization of Interior Design specifications, standards, and procedures for all assigned projects.On an ongoing basis, review deliverable requirements and work-in-progress, engaging in update and status-report dialogue with Project Managers to ensure proactive response plans for allocation of resources and delivery of commitments within, project schedules and budgets.Attend, as requested, internal design reviews and charrette sessions with the project team to provide creative and technical input throughout all design phases.Collaborate and coordinate with other Senior Designers on the following items: awareness of current workload, design practices, and adherence to project schedules, etc.In the event the Director, Design is unavailable due to scheduling, attend external consultant work-sessions and design reviews as requested by the CCO to ensure timely incorporation of all peer consultant input to design documents.At the conclusion of the construction administration phase, lead the project team in the consolidation and archiving of all project data.Depending on the project assignment, the Senior Designer may fulfill the Project Manager responsibilities for specific projects. Essential Duties and Responsibilities specific to Interior Design:Establish and manage all FF&E specification budgets, construction administration, tracking reports, and resource data banks for use throughout a project’s duration.Review and approve all specification documents before issuance, verifying the accuracy of quantities, specification callouts and conditions, design approval by CCO and/or Creative Director, adherence to FF&E budget, and technical collaboration with interior design documents and schedules.Design all furniture and fixture plans, including custom items, and develop fully illustrative and correctly scaled drawings on architectural backgrounds for incorporation into the design document set. Label (in CAD or by marked-up drawings) all furniture and fixtures (plumbing and toilet accessories) in the form of fully coordinated designations in coordination with the Technical Development Team with item specification numbers, descriptions, sizes, and quantities.Provide all finish, material, hardware, and specialty equipment callouts and specification information to the Technical Development Team in the form of fully coordinated designations on all architectural backgrounds and/or material schedules (in CAD or by marked-up drawings).Produce and coordinate with project team members to implement creative intent provided by the CCO, Directors, Design and Creative Director through CADD and hand drawings of floor plans, elevations, sections, ceiling plans, details, and specifications.During the construction administration phase, provide on-site field reviews and/or inspections of custom furniture and fixtures to ensure the installation meets the design intent and quality standards established by Wynn Design & Development.During the construction administration phase, assist the Project Manager in the review, and tracking of all FF&E project submittals, shop drawings and RFI’s.During the construction administration phase, conduct and support the design team with FF&E punch lists, and FF&E installations as required and coordinate close-out of all action-items.Serve as a secondary contact for the purchasing team regarding all FF&E inquiries. Essential Duties and Responsibilities specific to Technical Development:Establish and maintain all architectural, specifications, and CAD documentation standards for all assigned projects.Coordinate with the Director, Document Control in the development of all WDD company standards, procedures, and processes related to interior design standards and techniquesDevelop, document, and manage all design drawings from conceptual design through completion, including construction administration and field submittal/shop drawing tracking reports and all project manuals.Review and approve all design documents before issuance, verifying the accuracy of the design intent/approvals provided by the CCO and/or Creative Director, the complete and coordinated designs submitted by all peer consultants, comprehensive and organized drawing standards and cross-referencing, and adherence to the basic principles of life-safety, building codes, ADA compliance, design criteria, code requirements, and any other design standards.Produce and coordinate with project team members to implement creative intent provided by the CCO, Directors, Design, and Creative Director through CADD and hand drawings of floor plans, elevations, sections, ceiling plans, details, and specifications.Assist the Director, Design in the coordination of facility code issues and impacts with Architect of Record and design team and ensure accurate incorporation of resolution within design documents.Coordinate with Project Manager in the buildup and organization of the Interior Design project folders, standards, and deliverables.During the construction administration phase, assist the Project Manager in the review, and tracking of all construction related project submittals, shop drawings and RFI’s.During the construction administration phase, conduct and support the design team with construction punch lists as required and coordinate close-out of all action-items. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Required: Bachelors/Professional degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Construction or Project Management from an accredited academic institutionMinimum of 8-12 years of design and/or project management and/or experience with leading design teams, including a minimum of 5-7 years of experience in significant hospitality and/or entertainment-related design projectsMust have recently completed (with-in the past 24 months) significant resort hospitality projects through construction administration with field and project closeout experience Preferred: International project and/or client experience within the past three yearsFour and/or Five Star resort hospitality or residential experienceStrong previous peer consultant relationships based on successful project experience and trustNCARB Architectural registration and/or NCIDQ Interior Design accreditationCompliance with all Wynn brand training requirements, including completion of WE Lead in its entirety and within the designated timeframe. SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS: Comprehensive experience and understanding of the entire project process from concept to completion and have seasoned experience in working with peer consultants of world-class reputation.Familiarity or working knowledge of AutoCAD and AutoCAD Architecture 2018. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a team member to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Essential duties for this position include but are not limited to the following: able to work within a variety of climates. Safely lift and/or move up to thirty (30) pounds on occasions as well as sit for up to 90% of the workday. Repetitive bending, kneeling, stooping, pushing and pulling will potentially be required throughout the shift and exposed to potentially hazardous conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. When on a project site, the noise level increases too loud. When on a project site, team members are required to comply with all contractor-imposed safety procedures. Due to changes within the design and development process, nature of the design industry, team members must be able to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the company.
