American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN ICU - Intensive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Phoenix, Arizona. Job Description & Requirements • Specialty: ICU - Intensive Care Unit, • Discipline: RN, • Start Date: 11/10/2025, • Duration: 13 weeks, • 36 hours per week, • Shift: 12 hours, nights, • Work in Adult ICU Pods within a hospital acute care setting, • Unit consists of MICU, SICU, and TICU with a total of 120 beds, • Patient population includes trauma, surgical, and medical critical care cases such as sepsis, organ transplants, DKA, trauma, and overdoses, • Perform and manage bedside procedures including bronchs, trachs, and hemodialysis catheter placements, • RNs are required to read and interpret their own telemetry strips, • Use of ventilators including Cervo I, Jets, and Oscillators, as well as CPAP/BiPAP, • EMR system is Cerner, • 12-hour night shifts (7p-7a) with self-scheduling, • Required to work a minimum of 3 weekend shifts every 4 weeks, • Work two out of four major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas, New Year’s), • Floating required among all ICU areas, MedSurg/Tele units, and to St. Joseph Westgate campus, • Intensivist and respiratory therapy support available 24/7, • Team-based environment with robust training: two shift floor orientation and day 1 skills assessment, • Strong emphasis on maintaining sterile technique; failure to pass SIMs Lab results in disqualification, • Navy scrubs are required, • Holiday and weekend coverage assigned in core staffing rotation, • First day includes pass/fail testing on essential ICU skills; two attempts allowed, • Men must be clean-shaven for fit testing; natural hair color and no facial piercings required, • Travel teams must supply their own transportation\n \n Requirements\n, • Active AZ or compact RN license in hand at time of application, • Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience required, • Prior experience in a 600+ bed teaching facility is required, • Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required, • Demonstrated Level 1 Trauma ICU experience required, • Ability to titrate and manage critical drips, • Documentation required: current driver’s license, • Pass dysrhythmia (Relias) exam and skills validation on day 1 of orientation, • Successful completion of day 1 SIMs Lab for sterile techniques (Foley insertion and central line dressing changes), • Two professional references: one supervisor from the past 12 months and one peer or supervisor from the past 3 years, including employment dates and eligibility for rehire, • Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility; driver’s license used for address verification, • Candidates cannot have been employed by CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity within the past year\n Benefits\n, • High Pay and Bonuses, • Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options, • 401(k) Plan, • Weekly Payroll Deposit, • Free Online CEUs, • Generous Housing Allowance, • Travel and Licensure Reimbursements, • Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy With thousands of travel nursing and allied jobs nationwide, our attentive and approachable recruiters find positions that align perfectly with your career aspirations and personal requirements.
