American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN CVICU for a travel nursing job in Omaha, Nebraska. Job Description & Requirements • Specialty: CVICU, • Discipline: RN, • Start Date: 03/30/2026, • Duration: 13 weeks, • 36 hours per week, • Shift: 12 hours, days, • Employment Type: Travel Assignment Overview • Shift: Days, 3x12hrs, • Hours: 36 hrs/wk, • Start Date: Mar 30, 2026, • Length: 13 weeks, • 18-bed CVICU within an acute care, Level I Trauma hospital, • Patient population includes post-op open heart, complex thoracic and vascular surgery patients, as well as advanced cardiac cases from the cath lab, structural heart program, EP lab, ER, and clinic, • Common diagnoses include cardiac surgeries, lytic cases, carotids, TCARs, fempop, EVARs, and endovascular AAAs, • Patients are stabilized and supported with devices including Impella, IABP, CRRT, and ECMO, • 1:1 nurse-to-patient ratio, • RNs are required to titrate drips including vasopressors, paralytics, narcotics, sedation, and antiarrhythmics, • RNs must independently read and interpret telemetry strips — no monitor techs on unit, • RNs manage all RT equipment including vents, CPAP, BiPAP, and high flow oxygen, • No CNAs on the unit, • Charge nurse present on every shift; charge nurse carries a patient assignment, • Hospitalist and intensivist are in-house 24/7, • Charting via Epic EMR, • 12-hour shifts; days (0630–1830) and nights (1830–0630) available, • Every other weekend required, • Holiday coverage required every other holiday or as needed based on unit needs, • No on-call or standby requirement, • Floating required to all inpatient units, excluding Maternity/NICU, • 13-week contractRequirements, • Active NE or Compact (NLC) RN license required — pending licenses are not accepted, • Active certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS — pending certifications are not accepted, • Minimum 1 year of CVICU or cardiovascular ICU patient population experience required, • BSN is not required, • Experience with Impella, IABP, CRRT, and ECMO strongly implied by patient population, • Ability to independently read and interpret cardiac monitor strips required, • Driver's license required for consideration — used to verify candidate resides more than 50 miles from the facility, • Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, both including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire, • Candidates must not have been directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity-affiliated facility within the past year — candidates who worked PRN through outside staffing firms will be consideredAdditional Information, • Candidate must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — driver's license is used to verify permanent address, • Unit-specific orientation consists of 2 shifts, followed by a facility-wide orientation that includes a pass/fail open-book skills exam (90% required to pass), • Navy blue scrubs required, • Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care departments — refusal to comply will result to contract termination, • RTO must be disclosed upfront; limited to 7 or fewer days per 13-week contract — additional RTO will not be approved With thousands of travel nursing and allied jobs nationwide, our attentive and approachable recruiters find positions that align perfectly with your career aspirations and personal requirements.
