Job DescriptionSalary: $40,000 - $45,000 salary Organization: Grounded Strategies Location: Pittsburgh, PA Reports to: Executive Director About Grounded Strategies Grounded Strategies is a Pittsburgh-based nonprofit that works with communities to restore vacant and neglected land. We support resident leaders who care for neighborhood spaces through clean-ups, site refreshes, and ongoing stewardship. We believe this work is strongest when done together. Position Overview Grounded is seeking a Beautification Coordinator to organize and lead programs that keep community green spaces clean, safe, and welcoming. This role manages key beautification initiatives, including: • The PGH Mobile Toolbox, • CommunityCare (paid resident steward program), • Refresh Fund submissions Primary Responsibilities Program, Project & Site Stewardship Coordination • Coordinate projects from planning through completion and reporting, • Manage the PGH Mobile Toolbox reservation system and hauling schedule, • Process Refresh Fund applications and maintain tracking systems, • Purchase materials and coordinate contract labor as needed, • Keep program supplies organized in storage and in the Mobile Toolbox, • Support and train CommunityCare resident stewards, • Track maintenance quality across Grounded sites, • Coordinate ongoing stewardship activities, • Co-plan site deconstruction for projects that have deteriorated, • Plan and lead volunteer workdays (clean-ups, plantings, etc.), • Recruit and engage volunteer groups, • Facilitate workshops and seasonal events, • Conduct outreach such as flyering, door-knocking, and small group facilitation, • Support public education on lot beautification, • Maintain an up-to-date work calendar and scheduling systems, • Prepare quarterly updates on program progress General Responsibilities • Create content aligned with Groundeds communications strategy (social media, blog, website), • Ensure programs follow legal guidelines and internal policies, • Participate in professional development opportunities, • Support Groundeds Race Equity Action Plan, • Serve on internal committees (Workplace Culture, Evaluation & Development), • Represent Grounded at partner meetings and community events, • Assist with grant application and reporting content, • Support other programs as needed Requirements • Bachelors degree and/or at least 1 year of relevant work experience, • Commitment to Groundeds anti-racism values, • Valid PA drivers license, auto insurance, and reliable transportation, • Ability to drive a pick-up truck with a small trailer, • Strong organization and communication skills, • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities Preferred Qualifications • Background in environmental science or related field, • Volunteer coordination experience, • Community engagement or facilitation experience, • Interest in community development, environmental justice, or planning, • Proficiency in Google Workspace and standard office tools, • Public speaking or training experience Physical Requirements & Work Environment: • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs, • Comfortable driving and towing a small trailer, • Ability to work outdoors and in a fast-paced nonprofit setting, • Attend weekly in-person staff meetings Salary & Benefits The base salary range for this position is $40,000 - $45,000. In addition, the following benefits are included: • Health, Dental, and Vision Insurance: 85% Coverage for employees /pay (this is subject to change as health plans change in the future), • 10 Holidays, plus your birthday, in addition to the week between Christmas and New Years when the Grounded office is closed, • 19 days of personal time off (includes all vacation, sick leave, and other personal days off), • Eligibility for Life Insurance, Short - and Long - term disability, and our SIMPLE IRA retirement plan with up to 3% match from Grounded. Schedule • Full-time (40 hours/week), • Flexible schedule required, including occasional evenings and weekends Please apply by March 6th or sooner.
