General Responsibilities • The duties include working with Collections Specialist on calls and/or correspondence in a fast-paced, goal-oriented collections department., • Providing customer service regarding account balances, credits, researching short payments and discrepancies., • Responsible for monitoring and maintaining assigned accounts., • Accountable for reducing delinquency for assigned accounts., • Perform other assigned tasks and duties necessary to support the Accounting Department., • Enlist the efforts of sales and senior management when necessary to accelerate the collection process., • Close monitoring of company’s A/R aging report on a weekly basis to resolve open invoices and past due amounts., • Updating invoices, maintaining customer records, running monthly statements., • Reconciling credit card payments., • Applying payments for key accounts., • Tracking returns for key accounts and working with returns department to resolve discrepancies., • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, • Understanding of GAAP accounting principles, • MUST have a minimum 2 years of experience in A/R collections, cash application and chargebacks, • Strong working knowledge of Excel (including V-look up and pivot tables), Word and Outlook, • Working knowledge of advanced accounting systems (Sage/Peachtree/Quick books a plus), • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
