Job Description Job Title: CDL Dump Truck or Hydroseed Truck Driver Job Description This role involves safely operating an end dump truck or hydroseed truck to transport materials to and from job sites, supporting field crews in completing projects efficiently and to high quality standards. You will play a key part in maintaining a safe, clean work environment and upholding a strong reputation for professionalism through reliable driving, effective communication, and adherence to all safety and regulatory requirements. Responsibilities • Safely operate end dump trucks or hydroseed trucks to transport materials to and from job sites., • Maneuver, load, and unload trucks in a safe and efficient manner, following all applicable regulations and company procedures., • Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is roadworthy and compliant with FMCSA standards., • Monitor basic vehicle condition and coordinate necessary maintenance or repairs as needed., • Work collaboratively with crew members on job sites to complete projects on time and to defined quality standards., • Help maintain a clean and safe work environment by following all company safety protocols and using required PPE., • Communicate professionally with customers, crew members, and other stakeholders on and off the job site., • Organize routes, schedules, and paperwork to ensure timely deliveries and accurate documentation., • Follow all traffic laws, DOT regulations, and company policies, including participation in required drug and alcohol screening., • Perform additional duties as assigned to support crew operations and project completion., • Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with air brake endorsement., • At least 2 years of experience driving end dump trucks., • Proven ability to safely operate end dump trucks or hydroseed trucks, including maneuvering, loading, and unloading., • Strong knowledge of safe truck operation and material transport between job sites., • Experience performing pre-trip inspections and ensuring vehicle compliance with FMCSA standards., • Clean driving record and ability to pass mandatory FMCSA drug screening., • Willingness to work extended hours as needed to meet project schedules., • Reliable transportation to and from work., • Ability to wear and properly use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)., • Sufficient physical capability to meet job demands, including full range of mobility in upper and lower body, walking, climbing, stooping, kneeling, and crouching., • Adequate vision for distance, depth perception, and focus adjustment., • Effective communication skills to interact professionally with customers and team members., • Tanker endorsement is beneficial for operating certain equipment and loads., • Experience with hydroseed trucks is a plus., • Familiarity with basic vehicle maintenance and identifying potential mechanical issues., • OSHA 10 certification is preferred; support is available to obtain this if not already held., • Demonstrated commitment to safety practices and adherence to company safety protocols. Work Environment This is a field-based role focused on transporting materials between various job sites and assisting crews in completing projects efficiently. You will primarily work in and around heavy trucks and construction environments, operating end dump or hydroseed trucks and performing frequent vehicle entry and exit, walking, climbing, stooping, kneeling, and crouching on uneven surfaces. The position requires consistent use of appropriate PPE and adherence to all safety protocols. Work hours can extend beyond a standard schedule based on project needs, and conditions may include exposure to outdoor weather and typical job site noise and activity.
