Join our Kansas City, KS plant as a Plant Utilities Technician supporting the safe and reliable operation of critical plant utilities and building systems. This role focuses on maintaining essential infrastructure including water systems, air compressors, building sprinkler systems, HVAC, and low‑pressure natural gas boilers that enable continuous manufacturing operations. This role ensures equipment is safe, compliant, and operational to support daily fleet operations. Responsibilities • Perform scheduled basic truck maintenance., • Perform scheduled trailer basic preventative maintenance., • Complete other basic electrical and trailer repairs., • Diagnose and perform repairs on basic trailer tracking systems.Essential Skills, • Experience in diesel mechanics and troubleshooting., • Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics., • Ability to perform preventive maintenance and read blueprints., • Proficiency in brake and schematic systems., • Experience with diesel engines, welding, and electrical systems., • Maintenance technician experience in industrial settings., • Knowledge of transmission mechanics., • Fleet mechanic and fleet maintenance experience., • Skills in electrical troubleshooting and use of hand tools., • Experience with heavy equipment and engine repairs.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Ability to identify brake components and irregular tire wear., • Understanding of class 8 air brake operations., • Basic electrical repair skills., • Self-motivation and eagerness to learn., • Welding skills or previous welding experience.
