Job Description Industrial Electrician Job Description The Industrial Electrician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems within an industrial manufacturing environment. This role serves as a key electrical resource for the facility and is expected to exercise sound judgment in electrical safety, diagnostics, repairs, and regulatory compliance. The position emphasizes strong ownership of electrical systems, strict adherence to safety protocols, and alignment with NFPA 70E, NEC, OSHA, and company standards. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Troubleshoot and repair industrial electrical systems, including:, • Power distribution equipment, • Motors, motor controls, and control circuits, • Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), • Install, maintain, and modify electrical panels, wiring, breakers, disconnects, conduit, and related equipment, • Serve as a primary resource for electrical troubleshooting, repairs, and safe work practices within the facility, • Perform lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures prior to all work and verify zero energy for:, • Electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and stored energy sources, • Identify, isolate, and safely discharge stored energy in systems such as:, • Capacitors, UPS systems, spring-loaded components, and other energy-storing devices, • Read and interpret electrical schematics, one-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation, • Utilize electrical test equipment to diagnose issues, verify repairs, and confirm safe working conditions, • Maintain full compliance with NFPA 70E, NEC, OSHA, and company safety requirements, • Stop work and address unsafe conditions when identified, • Support and train operators and maintenance personnel on safe electrical practices and basic troubleshooting, • Review and revise SOPs, electrical procedures, and work instructions to maintain regulatory compliance, • Complete work assignments in accordance with established procedures without bypassing safety steps, • Identify recurring equipment issues and recommend corrective actions to improve reliability and safety Required Skills and Qualifications: • High school diploma or equivalent, • Journeyman Electrician License (required), • Minimum 5 years of industrial or manufacturing electrical experience, • Demonstrated ability to independently troubleshoot industrial electrical systems, • Strong knowledge of:, • Power distribution systems, • Motor controls and VFDs, • Lockout/tagout procedures, • Stored energy hazards, • NFPA 70E, NEC, and OSHA standards, • Experience safely working with and managing stored energy systems, • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and technical documentation, • Demonstrated commitment to safe work practices and procedural compliance, • Ability to hold peers and contractors accountable to safety and operational standards, • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in an industrial manufacturing environment This job description is intended to provide a general overview of the position.
