🏥 Director of Engineering | Healthcare Facilities 📍 Queens / Long Island Area 🕒 Full-Time | Day Shift 💰 $160,000–$170,000 annually We are a community-focused healthcare organization providing essential emergency and ambulatory services to a diverse and underserved population in the greater Queens and Nassau County area. With over a century of service, our facility is committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care regardless of ability to pay. We’re seeking an experienced Director of Engineering to lead all facility, maintenance, and engineering operations and ensure a safe, compliant, and efficient environment of care. 🔧 Role Overview The Director of Engineering is responsible for directing, supervising, and coordinating all engineering and maintenance functions across the facility. This role serves as a key operational leader and provides consultative support across departments. 🛠 Key Responsibilities • Oversee preventive maintenance programs for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, buildings, and equipment within budget, • Lead and coordinate engineering and maintenance activities with clinical and operational departments, • Manage programs to maintain buildings, grounds, and equipment, • Ensure compliance with Joint Commission, OSHA, NFPA, Article 28, and applicable city, state, and federal regulations, • Maintain detailed documentation, records, and project tracking, • Oversee contractors during renovations, utility shutdowns, and system restarts, • Conduct regular facility inspections and address repair or replacement needs, • Provide 24/7 facility leadership and on-call responsibility, • Negotiate vendor agreements and manage service contracts ✅ Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree required (Master’s preferred), • 5–10+ years of progressive leadership experience in engineering and facilities management, • Strong working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and general maintenance, • Experience in healthcare or regulated environments strongly preferred, • Ability to interpret blueprints, floor plans, and technical documentation, • Thorough knowledge of local building codes and healthcare safety regulations (Joint Commission, NFPA, OSHA)
