Position Overview SteerBridge seeks an Electrical Engineer (CM-EE) to support Construction Management Services for infrastructure upgrades at Veterans Affairs Medical Centers in support of the Electronic Health Record Modernization (EHRM) program. This role supports complex, multi-phase construction projects in active healthcare environments and provides technical oversight of electrical systems, ensuring compliance with VA standards, contract requirements, and applicable codes. Benefits • Health insurance, • Dental insurance, • Vision insurance, • Life Insurance, • 401(k) Retirement Plan with matching, • Paid Time Off, • Paid Federal HolidaysKey ResponsibilitiesElectrical Engineering & Technical Oversight, • Provide electrical engineering support across all project phases (pre-design, design, construction, and closeout), • Review plans, specifications, and shop drawings for electrical systems, • Ensure compliance with VA design standards, codes, and project requirements, • Support evaluation of power distribution, emergency power, and critical infrastructure systemsConstruction Administration & Oversight, • Review construction activities for compliance with contract documents and specifications, • Identify deficiencies, inconsistencies, and non-conforming electrical work, • Support RFIs, submittals, and change order reviews related to electrical systemsQuality Assurance & Inspections, • Conduct site inspections to monitor electrical installation and system performance, • Track deficiencies and ensure timely resolution, • Support testing, commissioning, and validation of electrical systemsScheduling & Coordination, • Support project scheduling efforts and evaluate impacts to electrical systems, • Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and facility stakeholders, • Assist in resolving technical issues impacting schedule and deliveryDocumentation & Reporting, • Maintain project documentation related to electrical systems, • Support preparation of reports, meeting minutes, and technical evaluations, • Provide input to leadership and contracting personnelOperational Impact & Risk Management, • Evaluate impacts of construction activities on medical center operations, • Identify risks related to power systems, redundancy, and critical infrastructure, • Support phasing strategies to maintain patient care and facility continuityRequired Qualifications, • U.S. Citizenship required (clearance process), • Ability to pass a federal background investigation and obtain VA PIV badge, • Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience, • Minimum of six (6) years of relevant electrical engineering or construction experience, • Experience supporting infrastructure or healthcare facility projects, • Working knowledge of electrical systems, QA/QC, and construction practicesProfessional Qualifications, • Experience with power distribution and emergency power systems, • Familiarity with construction administration processes (RFIs, submittals, change orders), • Ability to review and interpret construction documents and specifications, • Strong communication, coordination, and documentation skills, • Proficiency in engineering and construction management software toolsSalary commensurate with experience and locationSteerBridge Strategies is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
