Job Description JOB OVERVIEW The Cashier/Hostess is the first and last point of contact for guests at Barbershop Cuts & Cocktails. This role is responsible for delivering a warm, welcoming experience while accurately handling transactions, managing guest flow, and supporting both service and management teams. The ideal candidate is personable, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume hospitality environment. JOB EXPECTATIONS This is intended to be an overview of the responsibilities and requirements attributed to the position. It is not intended to be limited to such content nor does it describe solely what occupies a given day or week. • Accurately process all guest payments and account for all sales, • Log all required information on tender and cash-handling forms, • Manage guest check-ins, waitlists, and reservations to ensure smooth guest flow, • Coordinate seating and service timing with barbers, bartenders, and management, • Communicate wait times clearly and accurately, setting proper guest expectations, • Handle guest inquiries regarding services, pricing, bar offerings, and promotions, • Anticipate guest needs and respond with urgency and care throughout their visit, • Maintain assigned cash banks and ensure secure transport to and from the workstation, • Maintain a clean, organized workstation and restock supplies as needed, • Greet guests in a friendly, positive, and professional manner, making them feel welcome upon arrival, • Guide guests through all phases of their experience, from check-in to farewell, • Anticipate guest needs and respond with a sense of urgency and care, • Effectively communicate with management and service staff to address guest requests, concerns, or operational needs, • Work collaboratively as part of a team to support both guests and fellow employees, • Maintain professionalism that encourages guest loyalty and repeat visits, • Bid farewell to guests using their name when known and encourage them to return, • Build and maintain a personal clientele through exceptional service, • Follow all company policies and procedures, • Adhere to all County Health Department regulations and safety standards, • Comply with department grooming standards, uniform/attire guidelines, and jewelry policies, • Demonstrate a positive attitude, enthusiasm, humility, gratitude, and respect at all times, • Must be able to take and fulfill drink requests for barber guests., • Perform other duties as assigned by management SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This position does not have supervisory responsibilities REQUIREMENTS • Minimum of 6 months experience in cashier or cash-handling roles within lounges, restaurants, or quick-service venues, • Strong communication skills; multilingual abilities are a plus, • Ability to read, write, and communicate proficiently in English, • Experience with point-of-sale (POS) systems and cash-handling equipment, • Familiarity with social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, and similar; active participation preferred, • Positive, self-motivated, energetic, and eager to learn, • Ability to follow directions, make quick decisions, and stay organized under pressure, • Exceptional attention to detail and care in all tasks, • Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a high-stress, high-volume environment, • Professionally groomed in accordance with venue standards., • Physically able to stand and walk without assistance for extended periods on various surfaces, • At least 21 years of age. CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS • Must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state and local regulations. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS • Must be able to work under time constraints and within established deadlines., • Must regularly lift and/move up to 15 pounds, and must have the ability to push, pull, reach and balance when performing job duties in varying work areas such as confined spaces. WORKING CONDITIONS • Work is performed indoors in a climate-controlled environment and exposed to various environmental factors such as but not limited to noise, dust and smoke.
