Job Description We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in the Colonia, New Jersey area. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead the implementation of Sage Intacct while overseeing core accounting operations, financial reporting, and process improvements. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting systems and a commitment to driving efficiency and accuracy across financial processes. Responsibilities: • Lead the implementation of Sage Intacct, including configuration, data migration, testing, validation, and training., • Collaborate with vendors to integrate software platforms such as ConnectWise, Procore, Avalara, and Microsoft Report Designer., • Serve as the Sage Intacct subject matter expert, identifying and implementing workflow and reporting enhancements post-implementation., • Oversee the full utilization of Sage Intacct modules, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, projects, expense management, and reporting., • Support monthly and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting., • Prepare detailed financial statements in compliance with accounting standards., • Perform reconciliations for cash, intercompany transactions, and deferred revenue accounts., • Assist with audit preparation and actively participate in both internal and external audits., • Collaborate with leadership to strengthen internal controls and recommend system improvements., • Provide variance analysis and ad hoc reporting to support strategic decision-making., • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in accounting roles., • Proficiency in ERP systems, with hands-on experience in Sage Intacct preferred., • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards., • Demonstrated experience in audit preparation and execution., • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including financial modeling and data analysis., • Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects with strong organizational skills., • Familiarity with tax compliance and sales tax reconciliations., • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration.

This role works closely with Project Managers, the Project Accounting team, and clients to ensure accurate billing, resolve issues promptly, and maintain strong communication throughout the billing cycle., • Experience with Deltek Vision (or similar ERP systems) and/or the construction or AEC (Architecture, Engineering, and Construction) industry is helpful, but not required — we’re happy to train the right candidate. Essential Functions: • Prepare and issue accurate, timely invoices for assigned projects based on contract terms and project progress., • Work closely with Project Managers to review draft invoices, address questions, and make necessary adjustments prior to finalization., • Verify all billing information, including rates, expenses, markups, and tax requirements, to ensure compliance with agreements., • Maintain organized and up-to-date billing records within Deltek Vision (training provided if no prior experience)., • Monitor unbilled time and expenses; proactively follow up to ensure billable items are captured and approved., • Research and resolve billing discrepancies with both internal and external stakeholders., • Communicate professionally with clients regarding billing inquiries and payment status., • Support the Accounting team with month-end close processes related to revenue recognition., • Collaborate with the Collections team to assist in resolving past due accounts. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: • Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered., • 2+ years of billing or project accounting experience preferred; experience in professional services, AEC, or construction a plus., • Familiarity with ERP systems (Deltek Vision/Vantagepoint preferred but not required)., • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel., • Strong attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines., • Excellent communication and customer service skills., • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer., • Light to moderate lifting may be required. *Reasonable accommodation may be provided for individuals with disabilities. Job Description ABOUT OUR CLIENT: MP's client is one of the largest independently owned insurance brokerage firms in the country providing a full range of employee benefits, compliance, and HR consulting services, along with retirement solutions for both the private and public sectors. The business was formed in 2008 and today serves over three million participants nationally in the K-12, Corporate and Government markets. WHO YOU ARE: An experienced Accountant that will be responsible for a set of journal entries, reconciliations and analysis reporting for several partner firms. Treasury functions including the review of cash postings, collections and cash forecasting. WHAT YOU WILL DO: The Senior Accountant will help our clients growing benefits and retirement practice. The position plays an important role in executing the accounting operations for processing journal entries and Month End close, including but not limited to the production of periodic financial reports, bank, balance sheet reconciliations and Treasury processes. The Senior Accountant will play an important and highly visible role in the ongoing financial reporting of existing firms and some exposure to newly acquired firms. These financial reporting responsibilities will require frequent interactions with personnel at the National Office and other Partner Firms. Responsibilities will include standard journal entries, account reconciliations, proper revenue recognition and treasury support including cash forecasting and collections. • Month Close and Financial Reporting, • Working with the Accounting Manager, support the month end close process, • Work through a set of month end close journal entries with US based and Offshore Teams, • Assist with the preparation of all financial reports, prepare journal entries, balance sheet and bank reconciliations, • Review bank activity to ensure all transactions have been posted before month end, • Analyze Accrued AR, Deferred and invoicing time to ensure proper revenue recognition, • Assist with AR collection efforts across partner firms, • Prepare cash forecast and coordinate cash sweeps to National Office, • Be an active member in the company's financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting process, • Leadership & Teamwork, • Train and support team members working from the India Service Center, • Develop a strong working relationship with key staff in other departments, • Play a part in the short- and long-term departmental goals, objectives and procedures, • Maintain and complete SOP (standard operating procedures) documents, • Any other work assigned by Accounting Manager and Assistant Controller, • Compliance, • Support annual financial statement audit and tax reporting, • Assist with the financial reporting and annual audit of the group, • Prepare other annual filings as needed WHAT YOU NEED: • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, • Minimum of 4 years of accounting experience, • Experience with ERP/accounting software; experience with Microsoft SL, Business Central and QuickBooks is a plus, • Experience in Financial Service or related industry, • Preference will be giving to candidates with Offshore entities experience ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: • Remote, • Full-time, direct hire with benefits (Medical, dental, Vision, Retirement, vacation, sick and more!), • Compensation: $70k-$75k annually
