PURPOSE: Timely processing and managing of clients' Victim Compensation Fund, “VCF”, claims. A Claim Administrator, "CA", will work with their VCF Team to ensure that all claims are properly recorded in our systems and that all information has been correctly submitted on behalf of the client to the VCF. The CA will also support the client in obtaining all necessary documentation to ensure the success of the claim. The CA will also gather all necessary evidence to maximize the client's VCF Award. Responsibilities • Guide financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls, and operational policies and procedures; make recommendations for increased efficiency and effectiveness. • Coordinate and direct daily and periodic accounting operations and processes, assuring that financial records and systems are maintained in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. • Participate in the strategic planning process as an integral member of the senior leadership team through development and use of predictive models and activity-based financial analyses. • Perform cash flow analysis and planning to ensure availability of funds as needed for the operating entity. • Maximize return and limit risk on cash by managing bank balances, and overseeing investments managed by external investment manager in conjunction with Board Investment Committee. • Monitor and confirm financial condition by conducting internal audits. • Lead communication with external auditors to prepare annual audited financial statements and 990 returns. • Prepare accurate interim financial statements and special reports for both internal and external use, through collection, analysis, and consolidation of financial data. • Prepare annual operating budgets, capital budgets and periodic budget re-forecasts. • Achieve budget objectives by scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions. • Liaise with the Finance Committee and participate in Committee and Board meetings. • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local requirements, through research and awareness of existing, new, or anticipated legislation, and consult with legal counsel to advise management on needed actions or potential impacts. Desired Skills and Experience • Candidates should hold a bachelor’s degree or above in accounting and/or business administration, or possess equivalent business experience, and have five-plus (5+) years’ experience with a major non-profit, operating on an annual budget of at least five million ($5M). • The ideal candidate will have skills in managing processes and analyzing information, developing standards and policies, non-profit accounting, and auditing experience. Preference will be given to candidates with a Certified Public Accountant designation and/or an MBA, experience with Financial Edge, or other financial software, is required. Familiarity with Tessitura is a plus. Description The Museum of Modern Art is currently accepting applications for Security Officers (multiple openings) to interact with visitors in a positive and welcoming manner, including providing directions and information related to the Museum collection, public programs, and events. All positions will be dayshift (AM) for a 40-hour workweek with weekdays off. Additional responsibilities include: - Communicates Museum policies regarding the safety of the collection and ensures staff and visitors adhere to established protocols to safeguard the collection from damage. - Conducts opening and closing procedures, including inspection of assigned galleries and surrounding areas to guarantee there are no safety issues or concerns prior to opening the Museum to the public. - Performs patrols of assigned area of responsibility and reports issues and/or safety concerns to the supervisor. - Completes daily log and other security reports as required.
