Job DescriptionLHH is proactively seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Logistics Coordinator to join our client's team on a contract basis in the Houston area. This role will support daily logistics operations by coordinating shipments, managing documentation, and ensuring on-time deliveries while maintaining clear communication with internal teams and external partners. Job Title: Logistics Coordinator Location: Houston area, Texas Job Type: Contract Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM Pay Rate: $25.00 - $28.00/hr (DOE) As a Logistics Coordinator, you will play a key role in managing the flow of goods and materials, coordinating transportation, and maintaining accurate records. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, excellent attention to detail, and experience working in logistics, supply chain, transportation, or a related environment. Key Responsibilities: • Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments via truck, ocean, air, or rail, ensuring on-time pick-up and delivery., • Prepare and review shipping documentation, including bills of lading, packing lists, commercial invoices, and related paperwork., • Communicate daily with carriers, freight forwarders, warehouses, and internal stakeholders to confirm schedules, resolve issues, and track shipments., • Monitor shipment status and proactively address delays, exceptions, and service failures., • Enter and maintain accurate data in logistics systems (TMS/ERP), spreadsheets, and internal tracking tools., • Assist with inventory and order management by confirming quantities, delivery dates, and product availability., • Support rate requests, quotes, and carrier selection in coordination with the logistics or supply chain team., • Maintain organized records of shipments, costs, and logistics documentation for audit and reporting purposes., • Collaborate with operations, customer service, sales, and warehouse teams to ensure smooth end-to-end logistics execution., • Assist with continuous improvement initiatives and special projects within the logistics function as needed. Qualifications:, • Education: High school diploma required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or a related field preferred., • Experience:, • 2+ years of experience in logistics, supply chain, transportation coordination, freight, or a similar role., • Technical Skills:, • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)., • Experience with TMS, WMS, or ERP logistics modules is a plus., • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with carriers, vendors, and internal teams., • Organization: Excellent organizational and multitasking skills; able to manage multiple shipments and priorities simultaneously., • Attention to Detail: Accurate and thorough in documentation, data entry, and shipment tracking., • Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot logistics issues, escalate when needed, and drive resolutions., • Teamwork: Comfortable working collaboratively with cross-functional teams and external partners., • Customer Focus: Service-oriented mindset with a commitment to reliability and follow-through.
