The Construction Engineer supports the Senior Director of Construction on multiple projects across various locations. This individual is the organizational backbone for project coordination — managing schedules, tracking critical dates, overseeing documentation, and ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget. This is a hybrid role blending hands-on construction project management with administrative coordination, making it ideal for a candidate with junior-to-mid-level construction experience who is eager to grow. Project Management & Coordination • Assemble bid packages on projects once documents are received from the Development team, • Conduct plan reviews against work letters to ensure accuracy, • Review plans with knowledge of specifications and identify opportunities to value engineer, • Identify risks beforehand and resolve potential issues with architects, engineers, general contractors, and subcontractors as needed to stay on schedule and on budget, • Submit plans to tenants for comments and ensure timely responses are received, • Oversee plan revisions as changes occur to finish projects on time and on budget, • Manage all bid and construction RFIs, • Obtain utility designs and fees that correspond with plans in a timely manner, • Create and manage schedules, task generation, time estimates, milestones, and deadlines to complete projects on time, • Schedule project kickoff meetings, • Obtain special inspection estimates and launch once purchase of property is recorded, • Prepare and follow job submittals to ensure all end results meet expectations, • Track revised city, county, and health department document submittals during the construction process for accuracy, • Manage the department's task management software (ClickUp) by entering tasks, assigning them to appropriate team members, and strictly monitoring due dates, • Manage utility coordination by collecting, completing, and submitting applications as needed, • Set up and participate in the transfer of utility accounts for new and existing projects, • Process check requests and approve payment requests for vendors, • Visit job sites as needed to resolve problems and meet project deadlines, • Respond to warranty ticket requests as needed, • Coordinate and attend meetings as required; take minutes or track action items, • Must possess excellent communication skills and exchange information with others accurately, • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals, • Be First.
