Job Description ORANGE BLOSSOM FAMILY HEALTH JOB DESCRIPTION Position: Pediatric Provider (MD / DO / Pediatric- NP) Reports To: Chief Medical Officer Employment Type: Full-time Schedule: Monday through Friday with weekend coverage as needed Location: Health Care Center for the Homeless, Inc. dba Orange Blossom Family Health 4426 Old Winter Garden Rd., Orlando, FL 32811 Position Overview The Pediatric Provider delivers comprehensive, patient-centered pediatric primary care services to infants, children, and adolescents served by Orange Blossom Family Health (OBFH), including homeless and medically underserved populations. This position plays a critical role in expanding pediatric access, reducing wait times, and strengthening integrated pediatric and behavioral health services across clinic-based, mobile, and school-based settings in Orange, Seminole, and Osceola counties. The role supports a grant-funded initiative to expand pediatric access, improve early identification of developmental and behavioral health needs, and enhance continuity of care through integrated, team-based models. Direct Pediatric Care • Provide comprehensive outpatient pediatric care from birth through adolescence, including well-child visits, sick visits, chronic disease management, and preventive care., • Diagnose and manage acute and chronic pediatric conditions using evidence-based guidelines., • Deliver trauma-informed, culturally responsive care to underserved and high-risk pediatric populations., • Conduct developmental, behavioral, and mental health screenings (e.g., ASQ, M-CHAT, PSC, PHQ) and initiate appropriate follow-up, treatment, or referral., • Prescribe medications and treatments within scope of practice and organizational protocols., • Prioritize timely follow-up care to reduce gaps in treatment and prevent avoidable emergency department utilization. School-Based & Community Services, • Provide pediatric services at OBFH, school-based health locations, and community partnership locations., • Collaborate with school personnel, families, and care coordination staff to support student health, attendance, and academic success., • Participate in mobile medical unit operations and community-based pediatric outreach., • Adapt care delivery to diverse clinical environments while maintaining consistent quality and safety standards. Integrated Pediatric & Behavioral Health Care • Collaborate closely with behavioral health providers, psychologists, care managers, and case managers to support integrated pediatric and behavioral health services., • Support early identification and management of ADHD, anxiety, depression, trauma-related conditions, and developmental delays., • Participate in multidisciplinary case discussions and coordinated care planning. Clinical Documentation & Compliance, • Maintain timely, accurate, and complete documentation in the Electronic Health Record (EHR)., • Review and manage laboratory results, diagnostic studies, referrals, and medication refill requests., • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, HRSA, FTCA, Medicaid/Medicare, and all applicable federal, state, and organizational regulations., • Support data collection and documentation required for grant reporting, quality metrics, and program evaluation. Quality Improvement & Program Support, • Participate in Clinical Quality Improvement (CQI), peer review, and chart review activities., • Contribute to achievement of pediatric quality measures, UDS metrics, and program outcomes., • Practice cost-effective, medically appropriate care that supports organizational sustainability., • Support program implementation efforts related to expanded pediatric and behavioral health services. Collaboration & Leadership, • Work collaboratively with physicians, nurse practitioners, behavioral health providers, medical assistants, care coordinators, and administrative staff., • Provide clinical guidance and mentorship to team members as appropriate., • Demonstrate professionalism through integrity, accountability, respectful communication, and compassion., • Support organizational policies, procedures, and performance standards., • Participate in special projects and additional duties as assigned by leadership. Required Qualifications Licensure & Certification • Pediatric MD or DO:, • Current, unrestricted Florida medical license, • Board eligible or board certified in Pediatrics, • Pediatric Nurse Practitioner:, • Current, unrestricted Florida APRN license, • National Pediatric Nurse Practitioner certification, • Eligibility for Medicaid and Medicare enrollment, • DEA registration (or ability to obtain), • BLS/CPR certification required Experience & Skills, • Experience providing pediatric primary care preferred, • Comfort working in fast-paced, community-based or underserved settings, • Strong clinical judgment and ability to work independently within scope, • Experience or interest in integrated pediatric and behavioral health care, • Proficiency with Electronic Health Record systems, • Strong communication, documentation, and care coordination skills Personal Attributes • Deep commitment to Orange Blossom Family Health mission and values, • Cultural competency and sensitivity when serving diverse populations, • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, • Flexibility and resilience in dynamic healthcare environments, • Professional demeanor with strong ethical standards Preferred Qualifications • Experience in FQHC, school-based health, mobile health, or community health settings, • Familiarity with developmental and behavioral health screening tools, • Experience working with homeless, Medicaid, or vulnerable pediatric populations, • Bilingual or multilingual abilities (Spanish and/or Haitian Creole preferred), • Interest in quality improvement, population health, or program development
